#me GONE WITH THE WIND 1939 — dir. Victor Fleming
Siegfried and Audrey Moments Series 4, Episode 1
“I owe you an apology, Mrs Hall. For the way that I spoke to you last night. I’m also aware that I’ve not been at my most, um, patient or or good-natured these past few weeks. Anyway, last night, I... these are personal matter-- none of my business. Of course you must seek a divorce.” “They want a statement A detailed account of my entire marriage. And I just...” “Yes, it must be hard to dredge all that stuff up. ” “Well, it’s between Robert and me, no one else.” “Sometimes we have to look that monster right in the face. Show it we’re not afraid of it anymore.” “Well, it’s not that I don’t want to. Because I do. Desperately.” “Well, why don’t you use my study? I promise you, once it’s done, you'll feel like a new woman. I can see to it that you’re not disturbed.”
Also (and idk who is going to see this because it’s a niche fandom (for some reason. It’s so good!) to begin with and I’m posting 6 months after it aired)
But the fact that that line “you should be happy.”
sounds everything like “I want you to be happy”
and nothing whatsoever like “you should be grateful”
I’m normal about it.
how many times siegfried needs to show audrey that he loves her
"All God's Creatures" parallels (1.7, 2.7 and 3.6)
don't take many caps of niles but when i do they're glorious
*full of whimsy and whisky* bonjouurr Eliza!
Rumors were that Katharine Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor were feuding during the making of SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER (1959) so the two staged a mock fight on set. Also getting into the action are Montgomery Clift and the film’s director, Joseph L. Mankiewicz.
Sorry is the hardest word. Earlier in the season, Siegfried apologized for overstepping with Bosworth. They know how to apologize to each other. That’s important. I know I’m biased, but this feels more than an employer/employee. This feels like family. I love how she looks at him here. She knows he made this effort for her despite his belief it may not be what is best for the animal.
That's it. That's the whole show.
