when mr. rochester dressed in drag as an old fortune teller and elaborately pranked an entire party partly to get jane’s attention… when mr. rochester wrote, composed, and performed an entire song for jane eyre on the spot… when mr. rochester took in his former sugar baby’s bastard child despite her presence being a painful reminder to him of her mother, and then claimed not to love the child despite spoiling her with gifts… when mr. rochester sacrificed his life trying to save his wife even though she tried to kill him multiple times and he still refused to put her in ferndean manor because he didn’t think it was good enough for her (making it meaningful that he ends up living there himself when he’s disabled, showing he prized himself less than her)… when mr. rochester took jane out for an extravagant all-day shopping trip and was way more enthusiastic about it than her… when mr. rochester shared a god-given telepathic connection with jane which induced them to reunite… when mr. rochester decided to wear the pearl necklace he originally bought for jane for forever… when mr. rochester made up a story for little adèle about jane being an elf magically sent to him from the moon… when mr. rochester pulled jane onto his horse… when mr. rochester…
i agree with this perspective . siegfried just wanted to prove he can still “get it “. bosworth and carmody both made him think that time passes him by ,so he wanted to show ( to himself also) he has not given up on life . i don’t know if i can categorise it as a mid life crisis …but 😂
i believe he hasn’t entirely figured out his feelings for audrey ,but he s getting there . i think he knows there is an attraction, but he respects her a lot and doesn’t act on it ,he doesn’t see her as just a woman ,but much more than that .
i really respect the writers for taking their time to put together this beautiful story ,and not rushing it (although i wouldn’t mind them getting together as soon as possible)
listen i'm all for a slow burn, but at this point they should not be bringing any more 'love interests' for either one of them into the show. gerald was more than enough for that kind of storyline. adding ms gratley in is a dumb choice in my opinion.
if they want to drag out audrey and siegfried actually getting together, fine. BUT one or both of them needs to at least have the realization they have feelings for the other, and focus on them dealing with that and the tension it will cause.
the audience is starting to get impatient with this, and if nothing has been moved forward between them by the end of the christmas special, it does the show a big disservice.

Oh Lord.
Where to start?
Audrey clams up around everyone else, but directs her frustrations at Siegfried because he's the one she's closest to?
Siegfried saves the fox against his better judgement because that's what Audrey needed from him?? (Also continues the excellent theme of Siegfried saying no to her, and then doing it anyway. See James and Dash ...)
Siegfried listened without judgement or assumption when she was ready to open up???
She slept on the sofa while Siegfried looked after the fox her. The blanket tuck? I will never recover.
Extremely emotional Siegfried when they finally hear from Edward? He was living Audrey's turmoil and relief with her.
That awkward distance between them when the others immediately embrace Audrey on the stairs, but he hangs back???
That awkward pat on the arm when she's hugging Helen???? He's unsure of his place.
We may not have got to hear him say Audrey or give her a hug or even a hand hold. But what did get was delicious.
Besides this wasn't their episode. This was all about the remarkable Mrs Hall.
