So series 4 will be war-time rationing, doing their bit at home, all the while Siegfried will be harbouring his newly found feelings for Audrey and jealousy over her new relationship with Gerald. Over compensating and pretending he’s delighted for her. While he tries to convince himself that his feelings are pointless and futile. Frustration, angst and yearning. He’s going to be a mess next series and I’m here for all of it.

— Shall we just have a cigarette on it? — Yes.
Sorry is the hardest word. Earlier in the season, Siegfried apologized for overstepping with Bosworth. They know how to apologize to each other. That’s important. I know I’m biased, but this feels more than an employer/employee. This feels like family. I love how she looks at him here. She knows he made this effort for her despite his belief it may not be what is best for the animal.
You could always trust him with bloodlust and for that he stays no.1

Undoubtedly the best performance came from Anton Walbrook. Emeric had written the part of Lermontov, the autocratic impresario, with him in mind. He had a repressed, pent-up energy about him that was perfect for the part. Emeric thought that Lermontov was one of the best characters he ever created, but he was too readily accused of basing him on the tyrannical impresario par excellence, Sergei Diaghilev. Emeric denied the charge: ‘There is something of Diaghilev, something of Alex Korda, something of Michael and quite a bit of me’.

thinking about them again i really don’t feel well
Can we talk about how Siegfried, who is a profoundly emotional being, became a beacon of steadfastness, a quiet presence ready to serve, keeping vigilent, swallowing his own fear so he could be there for her?
How he knew too much about war to offer hollow niceties and false hopes that would strike her down if proven untrue but braced himself to become the unfaltering force that would keep her upright if it came to it?
How he was grateful to Tristan for being the counterpoint to that and staying optimistic because he also knew it was what she needed?
How he crumbled with her when the coast was clear, therefore revealing how much he was affected all along because his own sense of self has long merged with her and if she falls he will hold her up but will be doing so on his knees because her pain is his pain?
CAN WE TALK ABOUT THAT?
