Most Satisfying - The Handmaid’s Tale - Smart Power
You’re weak, and God wouldn’t let you pass on that weakness. You could never father a child because you’re not worthy.
every-fucking-single conservative woman ever these days
Serena Joy is also an allegory of the right-wing/conservative anti-feminist woman’s tendency to take the freedoms and rights that their feminist foremothers fought and died for, for granted.
She took for granted:
Her freedom to get an education and later become an author
Her ability to take on a leadership role in a movement
The concept of equal partnership with her husband
Having original ideas for a movement and being credited with them
She thought the idea of “the good old days” sounded good in theory but she failed to realize in practice she’d lose everything that makes her Serena.
I have no words
Whiskers discovers Larry is all show and no go.
The Handmaid’s Tale 2x02, Unwomen
Reminder that this was the **hottest** sex scene of the show (maybe of any show, if I can be so bold). All of June’s emotions erupt out of her in this moment as she takes control over Nick (who’s simply lovin’ in).
damn on point lmaaooo
me: i love no men. they’re the worst.
me: I LOVE ONE (1) MAN
“You never asked for a piece of my heart, but I gave it to you for free Then questioned why the only one who got hurt was me. I stuffed it in your pocket the first time you passed me by - Forcing you into a position for which you did not apply. But never had I ever seen a smile as special as yours And so I conflated halfhearted waves into something so much more, And finally you’ve come back to return your unwanted token; I dismantle my heart for pretty strangers then wonder why it’s so broken.”

How I took social contact for granted.
And how books and their characters can fill that void a little (:
