This month marks the last opportunity to see Graced with Light, artist Anne Patterson’s year-long installation in San Francisco’s Grace Cathedral (@gracecathedral).
Commissioned in 2013 as Grace Cathedral’s artist in residence, Patterson strung nearly 32 kilometers (20 miles) of multicolored ribbons from the Cathedral’s vaulted ceilings. Illuminated from above and by light streaming in through the cathedral’s windows, the ribbons represent pathways of light carrying the prayers and dreams of visitors skyward.

To see more photos of “nezo art,” browse the #寝相アート hashtag and follow @erichedelic on Instagram.
"The way my baby daughter slept was so funny, and I had some time to spare while she was asleep," explains Fukuoka Instagrammer Eriko Ohga (@erichedelic). In Japan, a growing trend called “nezo art” (寝相アート) has been inspiring mothers like Eriko to take creative photos of their babies while they sleep. Literally meaning “sleep-posture art” in Japanese, this new style of documenting baby years allows moms to have some fun during their few hours of peace while the little one sleeps.
The “nezo art” that creative moms like Eriko share are especially elaborate, using costumes and household props like laundry to shape scenes that tell stories. “I try to form a rough idea of the scene I want to create and prepare the area where my daughter would lay down before she falls asleep,” reveals Eriko. She then places her daughter in the designated setup, and, once the baby is asleep, the rest of the parts are put together in stealthy movements. Eriko also shares her tips for shooting the finished image: “I climb up on a chair to capture the entire scene from above. I’m also extra careful not to wake the baby up with the sound of the iPhone camera.”

To view more photos and videos of the Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival as it unfolds over the next month, visit the 冰雪大世界 | Ice & Snow World and 太阳岛 | Sun Island location pages.
Each winter, thousands flock to frigid Northeast China for the spectacular Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival (哈尔滨国际冰雪节).
The festival officially began on January 5 and lasts for one month, but construction on the massive snow and ice sculptures started months ago. The structures—which range in form from animals to full-scale buildings—are just as impressive after dark as they are during the day thanks to colorful lighting embedded within the ice.
Festival spectators face temperatures as low as -35º Celsius (-31º Fahrenheit), but people from around world can explore the striking sculptures through photos and videos shared to Instagram.
Maravilhoso!
Lovely!

Feliz, de riso fácil e escandaloso e, ao mesmo tempo, chorona... Fiel aos amigos e aos princípios, cheia de fé e otimismo, amiga, sincera, organizada, correta - às vezes até demais... -, falante, exigente, crítica... Enfim, bastante imperfeita.
