hi guys , i drew the scene. horrified by hearing him mad. [despite the 12 kaynes on this page i am actually his #1 hater]
đź‘‹hello, so this is definitely an informal account because i am literally just one guy, however I realized there isn't a blog archiving described posts in this fandom, so I figured if no one else is doing it, then I'd be happy to!
đź’›Check out my About page
đź’›Since this is meant to be an accessibility-focused blog, everything here will be ID'd :)
đź’›Posting frequency will likely be slow when it comes to writing my own IDs
đź’›Feel free to submit described art/posts to my submissions box! :)
đź’›Leaving long tags has brought me whimsy for years and I am not about to stop now. I'm not here to be stoic and suave, I'm here to be accessible and also insane about podcast. love and light đź’›
it is. done.
[ID copied from ALT: A four panel comic showing Noel, Arthur and John during the diner scene in part 39. Panel one: Noel, with his coffee cup to his lips, says “Well, I appreciate the perspective, but… with respect. I was asking John.”  Panel two: John, blushes, says “W… What?”, while Arthur, with a shocked expression says, “Oh. I…” Panel three: Noel tilts his coffee cup towards Arthur and says “Presumably, John can hear me.” In the fourth panel, John smiles wide and says “I can.” Arthur says “He… I can.”
Two sketches based on malevolent part 39. The first sketch shows a bust of Arthur looking offended while John looks uncertain. Arthur says “you think I couldn’t do that if I could just see again?” And John says “well. I don’t know that’s why I’m asking”. An arrow points to a second sketch showing Arthur kicking a crying bleeding man into the floor while John looks down nervously. End ID.]
My two favorite parts of this episode were “John gets to experience a human connection” and “Arthur curb stomps a guy just to prove he can, probably.”
Bonus Noel/Charlie concept sketches and lil Arthur and Noel colors under the cut
sketch of arthur lester !! the guy ever

[ID: The original painting: Alan Stephen Foster's "The Fall". End ID.]
Based on Alan Stephen Foster’s “The Fall”!
ID: a digital painting of Arthur Lester & John from Malevolent. They're both falling back, Arthur poses to catch John his face ducked down and hidden. John has his hand out and lightly holds Arthur. Arthur has light skin, dark brown hair, wears a dark vest over an white shirt, a tie and dark pants. John is a yellow tattered robe with a much shorter fabric on his right side. The background is beige and dark greys. End ID.
why is animation so hard <- literally an animation student
[ID copied from ALT with Author's Notes removed: Animated gif of arthur in profile holding a flickering lighter, as the light shifts images of john appear in the background, one in profile and one facing the lighter. End ID.]
[ID of the photos under the cut, copied from ALT: arthur and john in profile, john is portrayed as long yellow cloak stretching ominously far forwards with subtle black shapes writhing out underneathÂ
the same image only now john has rotated to face the viewer/lighter, the cloak is empty save for two luminously glowing yellow pinpricks, dark shapes mimicking mandibles and tentacles spill from under the hood and blend black into the background. End ID.]
It's dark Arthur, pull out your lighter.
(practically I know john is most easily portrayed as a normal hooded guy with a mask but deep down my heart of hearts still belongs to mergo's wet nurse)
another malevolent (inspired) piece
