Hi guys, this is probably the most important post I'll ever make

This is a one note a day for my girlfriend @isto-to-the-max

If you can, boost this and please spread some positivity to her. I can't loose her but I've run out of options and this is all I can think of to do now. Thank you for your time, and I hope this works.

When Sherry Johnson Was Eleven, She Found One Day That She’s Gonna Marry A 20-year-old Member Of Her

When Sherry Johnson was eleven, she found one day that she’s gonna marry a 20-year-old member of her church who had raped her. She became pregnant and in order to avoid investigation and criminal case, her family and church officials decided to make the girl a legal wife of this monster.

“My mom asked me if I wanted to get married, and I said, ‘I don’t know, what is marriage, how do I act like a wife?’” Johnson remembers today, many years later. “She said, ‘Well, I guess you’re just going to get married.’”

However, her case is one of thousand cases of child marriage. According to statistics, children 16 and under are still being married in Florida at a rate of one every few days.

When Sherry Johnson Was Eleven, She Found One Day That She’s Gonna Marry A 20-year-old Member Of Her

Johnson and her family also attended a conservative Pentecostal church and that other girls of a similar age periodically also married. One girl said when she was 10 she was raped by both a minister and a parishioner and later gave birth to a daughter. There were all documents confirming her and her child’s age, but still, the judge approved the marriage to end the rape investigation, telling her, “What we want is for you to get married.”

And nevertheless, America prefers to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs, like in Syria, calling it “defending freedom” rather than to change states’ laws and to protect American children from rape, coercion and molestation.

Today, Johnson is campaigning for a state law to stop underage marriage that has already become a norm in some states.

Please, help me to raise awareness to this issue. No one can remain indifferent to the problem of child molestation.

the point of “gender is a social construct” isn’t that gender is meaningless, it’s that we should be allowed to decide what it means

lmao i lost at least 7 followers after reblogging that…. anyway if you exclude nonbinary people you’re ignoring the white stripe of the trans flag; aces and aros are not straight and thus lgbt+ because theyre literally not attracted to the opposite sex, trans women are real women, and physical dysphoria is not required to be considered trans

also in trans news that should be talked about. laverne cox has stated that on saturday her and a friend were assulted in a park and it’s not really getting the same attention as elliot. we can still be proud of him without ingnoring what happened to laverne and her friend.

if you claim ally ship to the trans community then you can’t ignore the bad things that happen to especially trans woc. and if you’re a white trans person you can’t just talk about other white trans people. it just shows that you only care about trans people if they are white and that shouldn’t be the case.

if your gonna talk about elliot please also talk about laverne. she deserves better and we should all do better to raise up the voices of black trans women.

Anyone can help!

(Real pen the last picture)

It is important for EVERYONE to know how to help ANYONE. Not everyone can give them selves their medicine under every circumstance. Be educated, help out.

In the last year, i have gotten about five new violent allergies from foods i used to be able to eat. Next time i eat a fruit, my throat could close. I may not be able to inject myself. My boyfriend and i played with my trainer pen for like 30 minutes. He knows how to inject it. I know how. This is important.

Tumblr users are often so arrogant and it shows. They can draw a full cast of POC characters but when POC say “Hey we want more than just our skin tone” they’re suddenly deaf as shit.

Representation on Tumblr has become a way for white people to win brownie points just because they took a Hershey’s bar and slapped it onto a person’s skin tone.

The most disgusting thing is that they insist on making JUST African-Americans. They insist on making JUST one facial type, one nose type, one lip type, one hair type, one slang type, one skin tone.

And when they make a person Asian, it’s Japanese. And when they make a person Hispanic, it’s Mexican. And when they make a person indigenous, they never specify on which tribe/nation they came from, but you’ll bet they’re Native AMERICAN.

But my favorite part is when other POC demand representation and those same fucking white people are like “But but but look at all my black characters!!!!”

POC isn’t just confined to America.

POC isn’t just black.

POC isn’t just Japanese.

POC isn’t just Mexican.

POC isn’t just Native American.

It’s from the Miskitu in Nicaragua, from the highlands of Ethiopia, from the deserts of Saudi Arabia, from the mountains of Indonesia. It’s from the arroz con gandules, from the folk music, from the festivals. It’s many cultures blending, it’s speaking more than just English, it’s dealing with racism unique to our countries of origin.

It’s more than just one universal experience, and white Tumblr isn’t willing to show that.

If I see ANY negativity regarding Elliot’s identity you will be blocked. It’s that simple. I don’t care if you’re sad because we “lost a lesbian icon” or whatever dumb excuse you have. He’s not dead. He’s a person who’s not hiding himself anymore and we should be congratulating him.

Y'all matter. Love you. 💕
