in light of recent events as well as a new rise in creating nazi ocs I think this post is an important one to have on your blog if you stand behind your jewish followers or are jewish yourself.

Just thinking about them having parallel lives from the very beginning, being named after a married couple - James Taylor and Carly Elisabeth Simon. Taylor growing up in a Christmas Tree Farm, and Karlie's last name being Kloss (from Klaus / Claus). Being scouted and gaining popularity at an early age (early teens). Attending the same events for several years after said stardom. Being told constantly by make-up artists and hairstylists that they're the same person, that they would be instant friends. Then officially meeting and bonding on November 13th 2013. They intertwined.

so you know how the main Lame Guy from the ME! mv is clearly supposed to be a caricature of skint poor cheater… well now i’m thinkin about how you can read almost all of that song as a fuck you to him

e.g. “I know I never think before I jump / And you’re the kind of guy the ladies want” as a direct throwback to the final chorus of fifteen when she says “Cause when you’re fifteen and somebody tells you they love you / You’re gonna believe them. / And when you’re fifteen, don’t forget to look before you fall” — just in general i’ve been listening to fifteen a lot lately and reading it through the lens of her signing her contract with sc*tt and bmr at 15. so we have this idea of being a young girl with big dreams of making it as a singer (“when all you wanted was to be wanted”), and because all the ladies want for a producer or music executive or whatever to notice them, when he says you’re gonna be a star, kid, you’ll trust him enough to not think before you jump / look before you fall. and like… “I never think before I jump” has always been kind of weird for her to say about herself now because 30-year-old taylor is the queen of meticulously planning everything, but if you consider her thinking about 15-year-old taylor + “wish you could go back and tell yourself what you know now” … it’s a reflection on the naivete of her youth, and it’s a warning [cut to her vogue 73 questions interview where her advice to young artists was “get a good lawyer”]

and then of course we have “But one of these things is not like the others / Like a rainbow with all of the colors / Baby doll, when it comes to a L♡VER / I promise that you’ll never find another like ME!”

when you think about the fact that big machine records IS taylor swift, and that Lover is her first album that is not with bmr and that they won’t be able to profit off of, and the fact that they’ve obviously been searching for The Next Taylor Swift™ for years but haven’t been able to find one because there is no one else like her… it just makes so much sense??? honestly i like it so much more now reading it this way bc tbh thinking about these lines in the context of a romantic relationship is Not The Healthiest Outlook. but her saying fuck you sc*tt, you’ll never get another one of my albums, you’ll never find another taylor swift… OKAY MISS SWIFT!!!!!! GO OFF!!!

AND add on top of that, all of this is because “one of these things is not like the others / like a rainbow with all of the colors” i.e. she’s gay and all you misogynistic homophobic assholes kept her closeted for literally half her life in order to make more money off her, so let’s make it CLEAR that THIS is why you fucking lost her, and why when it comes to a songwriting juggernaut who cranks out record-breaking albums like she was fucking born for it, you’ll never find another like her.

also sidenote, calling a man who has objectified and belittled and controlled you for years “babydoll” as a dig at his clearly very fragile masculinity? POWERFUL.

i mean i should probably mention the apparently necessary disclaimer that songs can be about many things at the same time and ME! is still overall a lighthearted gay bop that’s mainly meant to be about positivity, and taylor singing “babydoll” is still very gay and cute when you take the sc*tt angle out of it, but there is absolutely an undercurrent throughout it of this being a direct response to the whole bmr debacle.

Even in the way she talked about it in interviews, saying it’s a song “that reinforces the fact that we’re different, and obviously there are a lot of songs about ‘I’m special,’ but I hadn’t heard one recently that was about ‘I’m special because of who I am’” … this distinction of I’m special because of who I am really resonates if you think about her losing her masters, i.e. the thing that made her special and Valuable to all the lame guys out there, (and if you think about this alongside her speech at the Time 100 Gala where she talks about how specifically writers have the power to turn their lessons into their legacy), she’s reiterating the idea that it’s not the recordings she’s created in the past or all her awards or success or whatever that made her special, it’s not the fact that some man ~discovered~ her 15 years ago that made her special—she is special because of who she is, because of her goddamn mind and this ability to write that she has inside her, and that is something that no one can ever take away from her.

Do you ever think about how in Taylor’s widely-recognized pro-LGBTQ+ song You Need to Calm Down, she included a very significant line that says “Shade never made anybody less gay”? (x) Do you ever think about how Taylor is a master with word-play and in exclaiming gay and shade, she is not only saying shade (as in homophobia and hatred targeted at members of the community) cannot diminish someone’s gayness, but also that the metaphorical shade from being closeted doesn’t diminish someone’s gayness either, that not being out doesn’t make anyone any less gay

Or about how in The Archer she sings “I’ve got a hundred thrown-out speeches I almost said to you” (could this perhaps be coming out speeches?) and “They see right through. Can you see right through me? I see right through me”?

Or about how in Daylight, she ends the album Lover with, “You gotta step into the daylight and let it go”?

Or do you ever think about Taylor has publicly recognized the delicacy surrounding coming out? How in her 2018 pride speech before Delicate, Taylor prefaced the song acknowledging this saying, “I want to send my love and respect to everybody who in their journey and in their life hasn’t yet felt comfortable enough to come out ... and may you do that on your own time and may we end up with a world where everyone can live and love equally and no one has to be afraid to say how they feel”?

Do you ever think about any of that? Because I do a looooot.

I know right now we are in an era where talking about ♠️ brings distress and frustration but I noticed something and I wanted to write it down because I write down my thoughts here.

I want to talk about this sequence which we have all mulled over and discussed at length which has brought much frustration. It’s just stuff I noticed.

The amount of clues sent on each day - if they are accurate - add up to 13. Meaning ♠️ sent a specific number of clues each day during this rollout.

1 on 5/31, 3 on 6/1, 3 on 6/2, 2 on 6/3, 1 on 6/6, 1 on 6/10, 1 on 6/11 and 1 on 6/13

1+3+3+2+1+1+1+1 =13

Then 8 days later ♠️ returns to write it out in sentence form. And in doing so moves the ellipses (...) to before the black heart (...🖤.). The 🖤 was on 5/31 and the ellipses was on 6/10. 11 days apart.

Then we get the last two clues on 6/11 and 6/13

I thought that was something worth mentioning without getting into the meaning of the message.

When it comes to the “when” of all of this which has brought A LOT of frustration. I still think that the 5 days between the revolution and exonerates represents albums 1-5. Then the two days between exonerates and everyone is two albums which I think would be ts10 then reputation. And the 3 days between Fervent and Revolution represents the three albums Taylor owns: Lover, Folklore and Evermore.

So the order is Lover folklore evermore, 1-5, ts10 and then reputation.

Additionally, ♠️ clues are consecutive days until we get to “free” which makes me think the timing between those clues should be counted as well 3 + 5 + 2 = 10 which could mean 10 albums.

And as an extra tidbit the fact that “exonerate” means “free” (the word it spells in the riddle) makes me think that ts10 is going to be named something like “vindication” or “absolution” that means or represents freedom. This is literally just a thought based on the words.

Okay now one finally thing - if you will indulge me - I just wanted to point out a lyrical connection to the actual “They Are Free” message that I thought of while listening to Taylor’s from the vault song You All Over Me

“Swore that I'd get out of here/ But no amount of freedom gets you clean”

Even though this is a vault track I think Taylor is really good at finding meaning for her current self in old songs and thus we still get the emotion in her voice when she sings these oldies. So I feel like this idea of freedom is relevant. The idea that you wear your experiences like stains on your skin. You can get out of the dirty situation but some of those stains won’t go away.

They are free doesn’t necessarily mean they are getting out clean.

Again I just like thinking about stuff like this and wanted to share.

Tea Time! We *might* be getting Blank Space (Taylor's Version) on April 16th. Here's what I know for sure: On May 11th, we're getting a single. 1989 (Taylor's Version) is coming out on May 14th. Because 1989 came out in 2014 and was her 5th studio album. The same way 4/9 was chosen because, with Fearless (Taylor's Version), she now owns 4/9 of her albums. We're getting Speak Now (Taylor's Version) on July 9th. I do not know what's happening in June. Good job on the Coney ISLAnd tea, btw!

So I know that people are reading into Karlie's seat because it's Karlie. But didn't other celeb guests sit in the bleachers? I feel like Sadie Sink was in a similar seat as Karlie, but maybe that's incorrect?
