reading a fic and they have a canonically repressed character say something directly and proudly
YES!!! I LOVE INVISIBLE SNUFKIN STORIES!!
I feel like his characterization from the first book gets thrown to the wayside, where he LOVED nature, but not the people as much, and he was much more emotional what he appeared.
So I always feel like he deserves to become invisible for a bit after things, especially his friends (family) start growing in ways he's not ready to see. They're the only consistent thing in his life, and now they're changing too. And so is he.
How frightening that must be for a little mumrik traveling alone.
i hate how you get desensitized to the cool stuff in your WIP if you've been writing it for a long time so when you read back over it you're like "this isn't as cool as i thought :(" but it still is! you just read it too many times
me listening to songs
Ever notice that there is a weird deification of male friendships in certain segments of fandom? Like people will act as if two men is the purest form of relationship possible (and shipping them romantically or gods forbid sexually dirties the pure bond apparently.).
Meanwhile f/f friendships are either ignored or presented as inherently bitchy/shallow and m/f friendships are usually presented as romantic.
