I watched a sermon on YT about Idolatry by Jackie Hill Perry and I'd be foul if I didn't share it.

Idolatry is anything more important to you than God. It's anything that absorbs your heart and imagination more than God. It's anything you seek to give you what only God can give.

Whether we want to accept it or not, a majority of us have idols yet are unaware of it so it's important to ask God to reveal them to us so we can give them up. God wants to reveal our idols so we can make room for him.

Whatever it is that you are trusting for identity, security or peace (social media, a relationship, a bank balance, substances, etc) is meaningless because you are trusting in a dead thing to resurrect you.

God who is life, also gives life. If everything good exists because of God then there is nothing that exists that is better than God. We were not only made by him but for him, so we will never be whole in ourselves without him.

It's good news that idols can be destroyed and even better news that our God is indistructable, because we need God.
