thoughts abt edison kingdom bc i’ve been rewatching it a bit (spoilers under the cut)
something something gillion— faced with injustice— is ready to kill to rectify it, to murder in the name of retribution, and comes upon a child.
a child faced with responsibility he never wanted, a role he never prepared for, who clings to the only semblance of family he has.
gillion tidestrider, capitalism hater and royalty assassinator, sees him and asks, “do you want to be king?” and does all he can to save him and his kingdom.
gillion sees this terrified child and sees himself.
ok but what if these wire things are how showfall keeps control over them without a mask...
I think one of my favorite headcanons that i have about chip and gill is that Chip isnt religious, but he still views Gillion as a divine being, as a savior. Chip doesnt pray, but he will get on his knees and worship Gillion.
Because Chip doesn’t worship, but Gillion deserves to be worshipped, and regardless of his status as the chosen one, he did save Chip

Unpopular opinion: not everything that makes you uncomfortable is bad. Sometimes discomfort means your worldview is being challenged. It’s okay to sit with discomfort and think about where it’s coming from.
there’s a new potent drug called “the bed” out on the streets. just one hit of the damn thing and you’re passed out cold, tucked in, multiple blankies, honking and shooing for hours. scary stuff.
what if the rest of the story of malevolent takes place over several years and arthur and john get through all the horrors and get their happy ending (whatever that looks like for them) and everything settles down and then arthur is immediately drafted into WWII
