8 illustrations drawn mostly in a dreamy anime-type style, with a limited palette of muted reds, blues, and grays.
"Ritual Bathing." Painter and Yumi bathe back-to-back in a small pool surrounded by rocks. Vines and flowers overhead create reflections and shadows in the water, and a small tray of soaps floats by them.

"Learning to Paint." Yumi and Painter kneel on the floor of Painter's apartment, both holding brushes as Yumi paints comparatively unskilled bamboo. The apartment looks modern, with an electric fan, hion TV, and bookshelves, and is messy and cluttered with clothes and dishes. Some of the dishes are stacked into precarious-looking towers.

"Learning to Stack." Painter, wearing gloves and Yumi's dress and clogs, and frowning with concentration, attempts to place a sixth rock on his stack. Yumi stands behind him, smiling with her hands on her hips.

"Meditation." Painter (still in Yumi's clothes) kneels on the ground and paints a swirl of ink on a scroll. Yumi kneels beside him, looking at him thoughtfully and tucking her hair behind her ear.

"Backlit by Wonder." A full-color painting of Yumi and Painter holding onto branches in the floating tree. They both wear Yumi's undergarments, which resemble a loose shirt and pants, and their hair floats around their faces weightlessly. Pink flowers in the foreground frame them, and blue butterflies fly past in the background. The sun shines golden on them both through the branches.

"Painter's Portfolio." Yumi kneels on the floor of Painter's apartment in her blue dress and jacket. Spread on the ground before her are about seven impressive ink paintings of nature and architecture. She reaches out one hand to touch them.

"Comfort." Yumi and Painter kneel together. Yumi smiles gently and touches Painter's cheek.

"The Stable Nightmare." Painter and Yumi run down an alley, away from a huge smoky monster with glowing white eyes and teeth. Painter is ahead and looks back to Yumi, who looks frightened and clutches a bag to her chest. The nightmare reaches out a claw to grab at her.

i love the implication that annabeth just gets approached and asked for autographs often by fans - dryads, naiads, satyrs, other demigods. she has her own little fan club and resident member percy jackson didn't even know about it but was like "yeah that makes sense" when he found out.
