I finally finished my 2024-2025 sketchbook! I did the 4 artists 4 bases challenge w/ my friends irl for the last page and so happy with how it turned out. :DD

When you were supposed to study but got seized by an urge to create so intense you draw for the entire night, unable to stop bc you’ve only been drawing once a week and your artistic self has no choice but to forcibly possess your body.

I did one too :) canonically accurate mira - i look ugly in shorts but they’re my default around the house, even in winter - i invite @yourlocaltiredartist and @claudiostudios to try if they want. <3

MAKE SOMETHING! DO SOMETHING BESIDES LOOK AT CURRENT EVENTS.
This past summer when political stuff was happening, I was already having A Time and I just started knitting more and watching Ghibli movies for hours on end- and it really helped. It not only took my mind off of the state of the world, but I was able to step back and be proud of my progress on my little project.
A rabbi I just talked to told me about how whenever the community was Going Through It, she was always prescribing art- she ran out of canvases because she gave so many away.
And making things really does help!
You don't need to just make things- play a silly little game, pet an animal (dogs are soft. warm creechurs. beloved (<- has a dog)), listen to a silly little podcast or music, watch a cozy show or movie.
But don't doomscroll. You get stuck and it's so hard to pull away.
But if you ARE stuck, take this post as a sign to just. Close the app. Close the tab. Stop now so you don't get even more stuck. Use this post as a pole to pull yourself out of the mud, or have someone else help distract you and pull you away from doomscrolling.

sorry i missed a day guys, life got in the way -_- Anyways here's day 8 of painting instead of going on Youtube! I drew my oc Adrielle from my story in development (Actually releasing soon i swear). I might roll back to doing these paintings every other day instead to focus on that and schoolwork.

Today's day 7 (officially a week!) of painting instead of going on social media! Today I drew my persona as a magical girl in the madoka magica universe. The design is still a wip... I used charcoal to outline my drawing today and I like it quite a lot...what do you guys think?

Here's day 5 of 'painting' instead of watching youtube! Today I was too busy to paint, so I just did a face and value study. :) [link of the reference down below] I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, but I think I could've depicted the shadows a bit better.

Some doodles of a spop oc i have :) im loving the new sketchbook my friend got me - its sooo nice!! I dont have a name for her yet, what do you think? She likes books and studying magic, flights in the night, and her main power is quicksight, which lets her see everything around her and a few moments ahead.
For some reason tumblr wont let me create independent posts like the button isnt working?! I restarted my phone so its definitely a them for problem.
