I need help (Ignorance wise)

Hello, I know this is a lot of trust to put in people online, but I’m an American, and my family doesn’t have live TV (and therefor we don’t watch the news). I have almost no way of finding out about the politics around me, and I didn’t mind at first. I didn’t realize how much I was missing, and how important it all was. I’m only now realizing just how ignorant I am. My mom was explaining the war in Palestine to me and she said so many names I didn’t recognize, and those I did I only knew their names, not who or what they are, or what they did…

I know nothing.

So I’m turning to tumblr for help, because I’ve come to trust the people here, and I’d research it myself but it all seems so overwhelming I don’t even know where to start… If someone could help catch me up, or even just give me some pointers, I would be infinitely grateful.

What are your thoughts on pointillism?

I like it! I tend to prefer it a little more abstract rather than hyper-realistic, but the way the art is made means that I'm constantly finding new details every time I take another look at a piece.
