Also! This was my entry for CSP's 41st illustration contest. The theme was 'seasons' 🍁❄️☀️🌷. I wanted to get that wispy, snowy, cold look.
I think I do alright when I draw from reference, but making my own composition, poses, colour combinations, etc. is always a challenge. Need to practice and study more for sure. That said, I think this was a bit of a breakthrough for me hehe; I got myself to experiment with different brushes, techniques, layers and blending modes. And I had a fun time drawing this :D

Painted the very cute graneledone boreopacifica aka deep sea octopus. Did you know that they have a brooding period of 53 months? (That's 4 and a half years!!!)

I think mine was either Chibi Maruko Chan, Hayate the Combat Butler, Yuyu Hakusho, or Dragon Ball.... or Cardcaptor Sakura.. or.... hmm Σ(-᷅_-᷄๑)
That post about death note being "everyone's first anime" (untrue statement) made me curious and now I want to gather data for science
Can you reblog this and tell me where are you from and what was your starter anime?

I finally downloaded CSP and made these two cat angels based off a reference image I found on the internet. I played around with CSP's brushes (you can see the default feather brush haha) and overall had a fun experience.
I think the sketch turned out alright, but the coloured version looks rather bland. I tend to have a problem with colouring and I think it's because I always choose washed out colours? And perhaps I need to use more contrasting colours and textures? I suppose the composition can be improved as well -- this is something I struggle with the most (>.<)
I'd like to see how other people would colour and compose this! Here's the lineart if anyone would like to try :) (please tag me so I can see!)
I gave it a bath once and the other creaturelings didn't seem to like it (ᴗ͈ ‸ ᴗ͈ )
Maybe there's some kind of cultural significance to it
My theories:
The dirt and flies signify tribal membership, or
They consider bathing a cultural taboo
can we give the creature a bath perhaps?
