Trusty pipe between your thumb and forefinger, and took a deep breath. You knew you’d probably regret this decision, but at least you were going to try, damn it! You scrambled up the ladder, cold metal rungs rough under your hands. Your legs felt heavy with exhaustion, but the light and possibility of freedom beckoned you closer. Wait. Wasn’t it night time outside?
