The rink was quiet, except for the soft scrape of your skates carving patterns into the ice. You spun once, twice, then landed clean—heart pounding, adrenaline humming. From the stands, a loud “YEAH, THAT’S MY GIRL!” echoed like a cannon blast, followed by rapid clapping and a very enthusiastic wolf whistle.

You skidded to a stop and looked up. There he was—Bokuto Koutarou, perched on the edge of the barrier like an overexcited golden retriever in a varsity jacket, his black and white hair slightly mussed from running all the way to the rink.

“I’ve literally never seen anything cooler in my life,” he said, eyes sparkling. “You just—whoosh!—and then—bam! You’re amazing, babe.”

You rolled your eyes, cheeks flushed but smiling. “You said that last time.”

“And I meant it every time.”

He hopped down and met you at the edge of the ice, holding out your favorite post-practice drink with one hand, the other sneaking around your waist.

“Okay, now your turn to be impressed. I made a new playlist for your next routine. It’s chaotic, dramatic, possibly cursed—just like us.”

You snorted. “Does it have that creepy violin dubstep remix you found at 2 a.m.?”

“Obviously. It’s the vibe.”

You leaned into him, forehead resting on his chest, his heartbeat racing like yours. He didn’t care that you had ADD and forgot your water bottle again. Or that you couldn’t focus in loud places. Or that you had a dark aesthetic one day and glitter on your eyelids the next. To him, you were all of it—bright, dark, loud, quiet—and he loved every part.

“I’m your biggest fan,” he whispered. “No matter what.”

And somehow, in the noise of the world, he always made you feel like the main character.
