sorry to have to tell you this but if a stranger comes to your inbox or slides in your DMs asking you for your money with some sob story, no matter how tragic and convincing the story is, they are a scammer — especially if the story is obviously copied and pasted, formatted in the exact same way as the other 100 bots in your inbox
writers are creatures that feed on comments by the way. if you want more of your blorbo from them, give them lovely comments. they love that and will most likely give you more fics about your blorbo
Btw, I am in the process of making a more detailed survey for this.
Speaking of, tempted to make a community myself, but since I have a variety of unconnected works, I have no idea what that would be a community for. Kind of reminds me of the idea I had to try and get myself posting again, mainly making like, a sort of dating sim kind of group of characters to play around with.
Y'all want me to make object head people for you to kiss? SFUIHSFU
One of these days I'm going to read all the books I want to read
One of these days I'm going to watch all the shows I want to watch
One of these days I'm going to play all the games I want to play
One of these days I'm going to get all my work done on time
One of these days I'm going to write everything I want to write
One of these days I'm going to text back everyone who texted me
One of these days I'm going to stop crying myself to sleep
One of these days I'm going to stop missing the mother that was never there
One of these days I'm going to stop being scared
One of these days I'm going to tell them what really went wrong
One of these days I'm going to stop drowning my feelings in songs
One of these days I'm going to stop being afraid of dancing
One of these days I'm going to stop being afraid of talking
One of these days I'm going to stop being afraid of thinking
One of these days I'm going to stop being afraid of feeling
One of these days
One of these days
One of these days
Which day?
There's always another day
Until there isn't
Then what?
Nothing?
I don't know
I'm scared to find out
But when I do
There won't be an endless flood of days anymore
Overwhelming days
Normal days
Overwhelmingly normal days
Every day is overwhelming
Some because they pass
Some because they don't
One of these days I'll stop being afraid of endings.
I love how on Tumblr, "media literacy" has become "Um, just because someone writes about this doesn't mean they're endorsing this. I hate all these media puritans ruining everything."
I'm sad to inform you that knowing when and whether an author is endorsing something, implying something, saying something, is also part of media literacy. Knowing when they are doing this and when they're not is part of media literacy. Assuming that no author has ever endorsed a bad thing is how you fall for proper gander. It's not media literacy to always assume that nobody ever has agreed with the morally reprehensible ideas in their work.
Sometimes, authors are endorsing something, and you need to be aware when that happens, and you also need to be aware when you're doing it as an author. All media isn't horny dubcon fanfic where you and the author know it's problematic IRL but you get off to it in the privacy of your brain. Sometimes very smart people can convince you of something that'll hurt others in the real world. Sometimes very dumb people will romanticize something without realizing they're doing it and you'll be caught up in it without realizing that you are.
Being aware of this is also media literacy. Being aware of the narrative tools used to affect your thinking is media literacy. Deciding on your own whether you agree with an author or not is media literacy. Enjoying characters doing bad things and allowing authors to create flawed or cruel characters for the sake of a story is perfectly fine, but it is not the same as being media literate. Being smug about how you never think an author has bad intentions tells me you're edgy, not that you're media literate. You can't use one rule to apply to all media. That's not how media literacy works. Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! Aheem heem. Anyway.

Hey, I made a survey for the recent writing project I am working on. If you want, feel free to fill it out. The questions may feel a bit random at times, but I promise they are relevant. And may have something to do with kissable object head people.
Minors please do not interact
I really want to write a short WIP celebrating how important, helpful, and wonderful sexual alters can be in a system when the host has experienced sexual abuse, I just dont know how. I always struggle with coming up with a concrete story for these things.
The Crimson Bride was sort of that (for those who may be interested in it). But I want something more character focused over symbolism focused, if that makes sense. Something that celebrates that type of system connection.

Does anyone know a name for lamp shades with this texture, or how to describe that?
