I feel like I should say that you don’t have to be Jewish to care about things that hurt the Jewish community. The idea that we are insular and would rather no one stick up for us than have gentiles stand with us is antisemitic. The idea that we would rather suffer in silence is a way to isolate us. Your Jewish friends do not want to struggle alone. They do not want you to look the other way. We want you to care while respecting the boundaries of our culture and faith. You don’t have to be us to stand with us.

Some things you need to know if you really want to be an ally to Jews:
-There is no such thing as a "Semitic people", and if there was, only Jews would be considered "Semitic people", since "antisemitism" was coined specifically as an alternative to the word Judenhasse, which means "Jew-hatred", and specifically to refer to Jews. If "Semites" was a legitimate identity, the only "Semites" would be Jews. People from the Levant who are not Jewish are not "Semitic", and are still very much capable of being antisemitic. In linguistic sense, "Semitic" only refers to a language family, not a cultural identity.
-"Goy" is not a slur. It means "nation", it's literally a word that means "non-Jewish person."
-Only Jews get to define what is and isn't antisemitic. If Jews are saying that something is antisemitic, listen to them.
-Jews are not White People Lite. There are Jews of every skin colour, and even light-skinned Jews can still be subject to racialized antisemitism. Listen to Jews when they say they experience racialized antisemitism.
-Judaism isn't just a religion. It's an ethnoreligion, a tribe, and a peoplehood. There are non-religious Jews. There are atheist Jews. And all Jews experience antisemitism.
-Judaism is a closed practice. Yes, we allow conversion, but it is a long and difficult process, and we do not allow prosletizing. It's like a locked gate where getting the key is extremely difficult.
-Judaism is not Christianity-Lite. Judaism came first, it is an ancient identity and peoplehood independent from Christianity. Christianity appropriated and butchered elements of Judaism.
-There are Jews of every sexuality and gender identity, and we have a long history of gender diversity and non-heteronormative sexuality. Include LGBTQ Jews in your activism.
-The Holocaust isn't your metaphor or comparison tool.
-Antisemitism has been around for thousands of years and it's still extremely prevalent and rising today.
-The Jewish community is a diverse, multi-faceted community. There are so many ways to be Jewish and so many ways to express one's Jewish identity. No two Jews are the same, but we are united by our shared history, heritage, and identity.

For example, the leukemia drug imatinib is priced at $47 a month on MCCPDC compared to the $9,657 retail price.
The online pharmacy’s prices for generics factor in a 15% margin on top of actual manufacturer prices and a $3 pharmacist fee, the statement said.

What's Going on With Roe v. Wade (6/24/2022 - 10:20pm ET)
As of this morning, in one of their final decisions of the term, the Supreme Court released a 6-3 decision in the case Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization stating that abortion is not a constitutional right in the United States.
What this means:
Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey have officially been overturned.
The six conservative justices (Roberts, Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Coney Barrett) voted in the majority; the three liberal judges (Breyer, Sotomayor, Kagan) dissented. Ketanji Jackson Brown is not on the court yet, but that played no role in the result of the decision, as she'll be replacing Breyer.
13 states have trigger laws that were intended to make abortion illegal as soon as Roe was overturned. This New York Times article details the status of all states regarding their abortion legislation.
It's not clear what this means for other precedents established under the same right for privacy.
Thomas specifically called for the reconsideration of Griswold v. Connecticut (right for married couples to use contraception), Lawrence v. Texas (right to same-sex relationships), and Obergefell v. Hodges (right to same-sex marriage). (He didn't call for Loving v. Virginia to be overturned, funny enough.)
Alito tried to wall off abortion from the above cases because of the "critical moral question posed by abortion", but it's not clear if that will stand.
There are currently protests happening across the country, and there will continue to be more.
What this doesn't mean:
That abortion is illegal everywhere in the United States. A number of states explicitly protect abortion in their own state laws. They are primarily in the northeast and the west coast but also include Alaska, Hawaii, Colorado, Minnesota, and Illinois.
That the fight for abortion rights is over. Some of that will happen in state legislatures, and some will happen in the courts. There is already a lawsuit brought by a synagogue in Florida claiming that a Florida abortion ban after 15 weeks violates Jewish teachings.
What to do next:
Donate. Here is a list of some places to donate to. And another. NARAL. Remember to donate beyond Planned Parenthood
Vote. State-level voting will play a large role in deciding abortion legislation. Federal-level voting will play a large role in deciding who is on the courts.
If you are going to protest, be careful and be safe.
Be consistent in your recognition and support of reproductive rights as impacting people beyond cis women. Be clear in the language that you use--if you're talking about people who can bear children, say people who can bear children. If you're talking about pregnant people, say pregnant people. Not all women have uteruses or can bear children, and not people who have uteruses or can bear children are women.
Take care of yourself and your community. This is a really hard time, and we need to look out for each other.

i feel like a lot of the younger group of people on the internet especially those who became online in the age of tiktok is that no one is obligated to interact with you. the best advice i could give to teens on the internet is block everything you dont want to see, unfollow over anything you like. you do not have to interact with people you do not want to.
but please remember that this goes both ways, content creators can block you over anything too. it doesnt go that deep, if someone blocks you its probably not personal. if someone tags one of my posts as a fandom i dont want to interact with i will block them and thats fine, i dont hate everyone i block and you dont have to either. creating your online experience is the key to having a good time online
