kleya marki character of the century. everybody else shut the fuck up
One of my childhood friends who like me, was raised as a Zionist just rejected Israel Outdoor's birthright trip offer. We had stopped talking these last few months and she called to apologize and tell me she's not going in May because she's been wrestling with how to reconcile her faith with what Israel is doing. We stopped talking because she couldn't understand why I would do that and now she has come to this conclusion on her own.
This is such a big deal and such a big win for me and I wanted to share this because everyone should know that views can shift. It's definitely not easy and definitely not because of just me but it's possible.
Don't stop talking about Palestine. Don't stop spreading facts about Israel's violent occupation of Palestine.
Btw Israel Outdoors is absolutely disgusting. If you don't know, they recruit college kids on campus to go do birthright trips. They're huge Zionists who openly support the occupation and genocide.
I like the implication that Elrond was blonde but somehow developed a different hair color either because aging Elves just do that or because he dyes it darker to come off more seriously which is very funny to imagine
Elrond: "Everyone called me pretty boy too often-"
i appreciate that i saw both of these on my dash within about five posts of each other. we’re gonna need both moods going forward, tbh.
Part: 132/?
inspired by a friend misspeaking
now everyone say thank you star wars for hiring Diego Luna, winner of the Worlds Saddest and Most Haunted Big Brown Eyes award, to play Cassian Andor
Reminder for when he “saves” it. He was the one who wanted this, and now he gets to be the hero and win favour with young constituents. Don’t give him the credit for fixing his own problem.
Performative feminism is a most annoying aspect of our times.
"Yeah, the galaxy is scary and dangerous, but… everywhere we went, even the worst places, there were good people, too." WHAT A GOOD STAR WARS LINE. The galaxy should be a scary and dangerous place, but ultimately about hope and the light that exists in it. Even if it's just a pinprick of light, a single flame against a galaxy of darkness, that goodness matters. That hope in a terrible time and place matters. Skeleton Crew was a series that was very much Goonies In Space and it stuck to that feeling, but it didn't forget that Star Wars is a story about hope and kindness and caring about other people, even when it's not beneficial to you personally. The people who helped those kids, not because they were personally invested in them, but simply because they cared about other people, that is what the underlying message of a Star Wars show should be about. Skeleton Crew understood the Star Wars assignment.
