I HEART VIKTOR
I think Bruce Wayne is a loving parent, but not a good one. He is a psychologically tormented person who never got over his trauma or developed any healthy coping mechanisms but he just keeps ending up with them and doesnโt really know what to do with them.
Like Dickโs parents die right in front of him and Bruce is just โhey kid, my parents died in front of me to. And you know what helped me? Punching bad guys.โ
And Jason? He finds this kid stealing his tires and heโs not afraid of Batman. He doesnโt seem afraid of anything. Heโs got a big heart and cares a lot about people, but no one cares about him. So he goes โhey kid, you seem lost. You know what helps me when Iโm feeling lost? Punching bad guys.โ
With tim itโs a little more complicated. Bc this kid showed up at his front door and put him in a corner (tim saved him) and Bruce went, โhey kid, you seem pretty good at this. I do encourage you to find a different extracurricular activityโฆ but yes, you can punch bad guys with me.โ
And with Damian itโs even more complicated but in simplest terms Bruce and Dick look at Damian and go, โhey kid, you seem like you have some issues and a weird moral compass. Do you know what makes me feel better? Punching bad guys.โ
Like shit bruce Iโm no expert but maybe some talk therapy or grief counselling might help.
The reason that Miguel OโHara is one of the best movie Spider-Man antagonists is because he is a Spider-Man who has forgotten almost everything that being Spider-Man means.
Miguelโs grief, his pride, and his biases have so clouded his judgment that anything that goes against his narrow worldview has to be dismissed and put down swiftly and brutally. Miguel is what all Spider-people fear to become: someone who has stopped trying. Someone who believes that it was their pain, and not their choices, that makes them who they are.
MJ: My husband, Peter Parker, was an ordinary person. He always said that it could be anyone behind the mask. He was just the kid who happened to get bit. He didnโt ask for his powers. But he chose to be Spider-Man. My favorite thing about Peter is that he made us each feel powerful. We all have powers of one kind or the other, and in our own way we are all Spider-Man. And we are all counting on you.
Getting bitten by a radioactive/genetic/magic/whatever spider doesnโt make you Spider-Man. All that does is give you some powers. Miguel believes that destiny chooses you to be Spider-Man, but heโs wrong.
You make yourself Spider-Man, and one person understands that better than anyone.
i didn't mean toโ
