a distant shore is such a good episode GOD
and actually, does this help explain Pronto's weird actions in slugfu showdown? Maybe the Shane gangs gotten used to just BLASTING their actual activities/unnecessary noise on the slugnet to cover for any burning world catastrophes that, when they got the elementals, pronto was like "why should we keep this a secret??? it'll confuse people, maybe they'll start to think the shane secrets were about the elementals??? I was throwing them off!" And like, still not the smartest, but a better explanation!!!
Do you think after the events of a distant shore that the Shane gang developed a shared excuse for what the Shane secret is? Like in case they ever get put in another Gar situation, they all have a shared lie that the bad guy ™️ can cross reference separately between them and get the same story
E.g . They’ve all decided that the fake Shane secret is that there’s a secret 100’th cavern and the only way to get there is with a shadowclan escort (explains why will had that shadowclan stuff and where the Shanes disappear to)
Considering how Eli was acting and the fact Gar more then likely spilled the Journal belonged to Jimmo Shane, yeah, they probably came up with a fake Shane Secret to cover for the real one as a just in case measure.
Granted the majority of Gar's highered help turned on him the moment Eli destroyed the Journal, it doesn't erase the fact a Shane went out of their way to stop whatever Gar was doing, steal something of value and then burn it to ash to prevent others from reading it.
Let alone the fact that something of value being the Journal of a former Shane, and possibly containing the answers to anything about Slugterra or the Shane family.
No doubt Gar posted, and is still posting what he knows on the SlugNet, and other Burning World truthers as well. And this isn't covering the potential in universe crack theory that spawned from Elis actions in A Distant Shore that the Shane's have a connection to the Burning World because why else would a Shane risk everything like that if it wasn't important?
The gang going out of their way to cover it up further and make fake leads is a real possibility.
They would want to create as much doubt and spread as much false information they can in the aftermath of something like that. Maybe even make a few fake accounts and post nonsense on speculation sights to throw ppl off.
good, I can work tomorrow without crying. Cherish your pumpkins, make purple milkshakes, and thank the lord above that didn't listen to a single one of us who wanted Pete gone.
See you all tomorrow, this is fun!
Good, it means we'll be able to build up the young! Will content in the fandom! Keep on soldier, I shall join you when Shane's Get Hurt is complete!!!
I am currently working on something, and all I have to say for myself is this:
Will Shane is just a silly little guy, your honor! He's silly, very un-serious, and just wants to have fun before getting bonked with the trauma hammer
love thissssss agree 100%
hows each of the shanegang like depressed
I think some might different takes on this, but these are just mine
Eli, is one of those people who keep it to themselves. He doesn't like others seeing him sad, not because he thinks it makes him look weak, but because he doesn't want anyone to worry about him, and has this massive issue of setting aside his own problems and focusing on anything but his own problems. Like putting aside the search for his dad in favor of helping Junjie and the Eastern Caverns. (There is more context to that, but i swear every single time Will is brought up, Eli gets sad, then almost immediately perks up and redirects the conversation)
Speaking of Junjie, he's actually kinda the same way as Eli. In the early episodes of the Eastern Caverns arc, Junjie is having nightmares, and in ROTE, he admitted to as much as well to Eli in the garage, the difference is that the EC arc nightmares are worse, where as the ROTE one was probably a buried memory. He keeps shit to himself and trains to keep his mind off it.
When both Eli and Junjie eventually crash, they crash hard
Trixie also keeps it to herself, but she is more snippy and irritable. It's also kinda easy to tell when she's getting depressed because she's not filming or editing videos as often.
Pronto is eating his feelings. But not in the overly gross exaggerated way.
Kord buries himself in mechanic work. Troll's got to feel useful. He also gets in like a slump and is very clearly upset. I like to think Kord is like the most emotionally intelligent member of the Gang, so he is rather open about how he's feeling most of the time. But knows not to trauma dump, everyone in the Gangs got there own stuff to deal with.
