MuirMcNeil SFCA Inside Out poster mono line version 2013
SF CA Poster
‘InsideOut’, an exhibition of one-off posters organised by the AIGA San Francisco Chapter. Invited participants from inside the Bay Area and outside were asked to design a poster based on a personal impression of San Francisco. The posters were sold at silent auction on 12 November 2013 to raise funds for AIGA scholarships, educational programming and community events.
It seemed appropriate as ‘outsiders’ to adopt an approach which might in some way portray a ‘universal’ view of San Francisco; something to celebrate the influence the Bay Area had on culture, art, technology and music in the latter half of the 20th century. MuirMcNeil’s ThreeSix 31 typeface, with the contoured layering attributes of its eight weights, seemed to be the ideal vehicle with which to create a typographic psychedelia with minimal content – SF CA is a concise and easily recognisable way of representing the city in typographic form. The colours speak for themselves.

Studio Feixen - Nike BYG - October 2015
Work with Nike is a highly professional “ping-pong” process. Nike provides us with an emotion to be expressed and leaves it to us to find out how this emotion manifests itself visually. This allows us to explore and focus at our own will, without worrying about a greater concept. For this reason we find working with Nike to be extremely refreshing and enjoyable. Over the last two years, we had the pleasure to work for Nike Basketball on a variety of projects. We designed t-shirts for world stars such as Lebron James or Kevin Durant and created posters and typography concepts for Hyperdunk as well as the Bring your Game campaign. Our aim for this campaign was to create design that conveyed the right feeling. We played and messed around, we collaged, we cut and glued. It wasn’t about big concepts – It was about uncovering a visual language that sported the same energy and excitement as a great basketball game.

Tobias Kaspar THE STREET Friday March 11th 2016 4pm - 12 am Cinecittà Studios via Tuscolana 1055, Rome (Metro A Cinecittà), Map
Entrance free, due to the studios safety regulation please register at the box office or online at: istitutosvizzero.it/thestreet
Tobias Kaspar’s THE STREET is a one day exhibition taking place inside Cinecittà’s so-called “Gangs of New York” (2002, Dir. by Martin Scorsese) set which once resembled part of New York’s Lower Broadway.
THE STREET is the artist’s response to the invitation by the Istituto Svizzero to develop a project outside its institutional realm in order to put its own boundaries at stake. Looking at New York or looking for New York, Tobias Kaspar found one of the Big Apple’s reproductions inside the Cinecittà Studios in Rome; the Broadway set. The artist has been interested to realise an artwork that addresses the issue of being everywhere and exactly nowhere at the same time, to realise a project in a specific place while pretending to be somewhere else.
THE STREET is an Istituto Svizzero di Roma production with Cinecittà Studios and Cinecittà Si Mostra and the support of Abteilung Kultur Kanton Basel-Stadt, Media partner NERO
