Has nobody actually made a "The Prototype actually left Theo behind and escaped" AU?

Like, Theodore still becomes Catnap because an employee finds him and the scientists decide it's easier than trying to keep him alive.

The Prototype is not gone for long. There are numerous sightings of a "monster" outside the factory before they capture him, leading to some unwanted press, but eventually they do get him back.

But with a Theo who was left for dead, I doubt he would even trust the Prototype anymore. The one he befriended, stole files for, helped escape just left him there while he was in pain and dying.

I wonder what such a version of Catnap would be like...
