a lot of fic rec lists focus heavily on long fics but here’s a shoutout to short fics they give so much snack-size joy i hate how writing short form is sometimes looked down upon it has its own challenges and deserves so much more respect and love because a well executed short fic can ruin your life in 20 minutes

Sirius is the type to realize pretty quickly that Remus has a crush on him and he's like yikes, that's gonna be weird which turns into Remus is kinda pathetic, like a wobbly puppy kinda way to why is he kinda...he's kinda adorable...to dang I think he's cute, I think I like him. And then he's like, since he likes me and I like him, I guess we're dating now.

Sirius is the type to forget to tell the person who likes him that he likes them back, and just, assumes they are dating.

So wolfstar is just, one sided established and one sided unrequited. Remus is hardcore pining pitifully and Sirius is like, yeahhh we're so in love and cute.

If you lack ideas then maybe rn is not the time to create but to experience to gain access to the creativity you obviously lack. If you can't write English well? Then learn it. Do it badly. bonfire night

I need all my American friends to consider this because I need more of it in my Wolfstar fics — bonfire night. 

Bonfire night is, obviously, a nightmare. Your whole town squished into a small space, usually a field, but as a queer teen it’s great. ( My first queer experience was holding hands with a girl on bonfire night.)

Imagine for a moment — Sirius Black experiencing that muggle tradition for the first time. Pressed up against Remus cause there really is no room when your whole town is smushed together in one place, an opportunity for him to get close to Remus. Bundled up in a dozen layers and still cold, James’ arm wrapped around him, pitch black sky and seeing nothing but his own breath until suddenly, as the chanting crowd gets to ‘one’ the sky lights up in colour. Remus’ face glowing with reds and blues and purples, Remus glancing at him, hands brushing, fingers intwining because, again, it’s a tight crowd. No one to see this moment between them. Magic for a very different reason. Going home to light sparklers and eat good food and watch tv and the phantom feelings of someone’s hand in his.  It’d be his favourite holiday.

we need more bonfire nights!

I needed to represent this moment because I think we don’t talk enough about how heartbreaking this night was for Lupin.

That night, the wounds of the war reopened. His world crumbled at his feet, and everything he believed to be true turned out to be a lie. For the first time in 12 years, he could see everything with clarity… and that clarity didn’t bring peace, only pain. He started thinking about how this would change his world entirely. He felt like *he* was the traitor—for not trusting his heart sooner.

For years, he lived with guilt, loss, and isolation, thinking he had already endured the worst. But learning the truth pulled the ground from under him. He didn’t just lose James, Lily, Peter and Sirius—he lost his trust in himself. And now, seeing it all clearly, he’s left with nothing but regret and the quiet ache of betrayal—toward his friends, and toward his own soul.

And this is all my heart and thoughts into this piece, love you 💗🫂 hope you like it ✨
