Sirius sighs in relief when Remus’s eyes flutter open. Not that he has any reason to feel anxious anymore. It’s been over a week since the operation, and Remus’s doctor assured them, quite insistently, at his follow-up appointment that everything is healing normally and that Remus should be back to his normal energy levels soon. Still, surgery is a big deal, and he knows how important this one is to Remus. If something goes wrong—well, Remus doesn’t like it when Sirius thinks that way, so he tries his best not to.

“Good morning, love,” Sirius whispers, propping himself up on his elbow to look down at his boyfriend. Just as he had done every morning since the surgery, Remus lifts a hand to his chest, as if double-checking that it’s flat. And then he smiles in relief, just as he does every morning. “Don’t worry,” Sirius teases. “You’re still breast free.”

Remus rolls his eyes, but he’s still smiling brightly.

“Here.” Sirius reaches over to the side table where he keeps a bottle of water and Remus’s pain medication. “You must be sore. Go on, drink up, and I’ll start breakfast. I’ll give you a bath and tend to your battle wounds after you eat, how does that sound?”

“It sounds wonderful.” Remus’s smile transforms into something softer, something that’s just for Sirius. “But you have to stop calling my top surgery scars ‘battle wounds.’”

“No can do, Moons.” He ruffles Remus’s hair playfully as he climbs out of bed. “No can do.”

Thinking about wolfstarbucks roommates where James and Sirius build Remus a canopy bed, so he has a cozy little cave to hide in when he's having a bad day.

Sometimes he's alone in there when he really needs some space from it all but more than often he actually would like some company and then he will leave a trail of his socks leading to the bed so James and Sirius know they can come cuddle.

Remus chooses to believe that he is simply growing as a person and learning to challenge his anxiety instead of letting it hold him back, rather than it having anything to do with how intense his feelings for Sirius are. Because they aren't. Intense. They're just...feelings. Regular feelings. The exact normal amount of feelings that should be expected on the way to a second date.

I know not everyone does, but I love angry Remus. Specifically young angry Remus to old tired Remus. Remus Lupin has a lot of things to be angry about and every right to be. Because of who he is and they way world treats him because of it (e.i, werewolf, queer, scars, disabilities, etc). He gets older, his reflexes slow down, his bones ache, it's hard to breath, but he never stops being angry but the tiredness is overwhelming. Life is short and maybe he just wants to enjoy what he has after losing so much.

literally doesn’t matter what your point is when you said it! using disability as a reason to prove someone’s unattractive is in fact ableist, and your entire post is about how he’s a loser so yeah it is related. you’re right, people are weird about young people being physically disabled sometimes, including you right now with this post…this post isn’t calling out ableism, it’s including disability in a list of reasons most people don’t find remus attractive and/or reasons he’s a loser

maybe you could try reflecting for two seconds instead of getting defensive when someone calls you out ✌🏽

Sirius: “No I’m normal everyone thinks Remus is the hottest person alive”

Remus: excuses himself from a party after 10 minutes bc he wants to go knit. Wearing the most heinous jumper even your grandfather would shy away from. Blacks out after one (1) beer. Dies if someone makes eye contact with him. Sits awkwardly in the corner trying not to cry when he has to stay in a party for too long (fails every time). Bones pop 87 times every time he stands up. Cannot sit on the floor or he will need to be picked up bc his back is so bad. Asks Sirius + James + Peter to kiss his booboos bc his mummy used to do it and it made it feel better. Always has at least 3 books on him but needs Sirius to carry them bc he’s too weak. Hates smoking bc he’s worried about cancer. Very awkward. Loser.
