Hello dears, it's Ola, I write to you today in the most difficult circumstances I have ever faced in my life, circumstances that have become unbearable. Life has been harsh on us in ways we never expected, and we are now unable to provide for even the most basic needs, such as food, water, and everything essential for survival. But today, I need you more than ever, more than any moment I've gone through. I need your help, your love, and your compassionate hearts. We are going through an incredibly tough time, and mercy only comes from hearts like yours. Please, your feeling for us is the only hope left. We have nothing but your prayers and support.

If you read my story, perhaps you would understand that it was never expected for me to be in this situation, begging for help from others. Life can be cruel at times, but there are still compassionate hearts that can light our way and change our fate.

5 years ago today, 26-year-old #BreonnaTaylor was killed by Louisville Metro Police after they forced entry into her home.

The killing of Taylor by police officers and the initial lack of charges against the LMPD officers involved sparked numerous protests with supporters adopting the motto #SayHerName. These protests against police brutality and racism were concurrent with the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement across the United States.

Before her untimely death, Taylor was an award-winning ER medical technician who dedicated her life to helping others and aspired to become a nurse.

Taylor's family was awarded $12 million in compensation and was given a promise the LMPD would reform its practices.

i know palestine will be free in my lifetime. i know palestine will be free in my lifetime. i know i will see the day palestine is free and i will see her shake the dust of occupation from her heels. i know the old people and children of her history will return to their ancestral homes, their houses, their valleys, their olive groves, not to to set their roots down again because their roots have always been there, will always be there, but to grow again, bear fruit for harvest, and never be cut down again. i know palestine will be free. i grieve for palestine and dream of palestinian joy.

A friend of mine posted this and tagged my old instagram account, asking me to share it. I figured sharing it here where I actually have a following, would be far better.

Please remember that just because the government is giving into pressure and greed, that doesn’t mean that any of this is getting any better, in a lot of ways it’s getting worse. And even if you yourself aren’t being as heavily affected anymore, there are people and communities that are.
