5 years ago today, 26-year-old #BreonnaTaylor was killed by Louisville Metro Police after they forced entry into her home.

The killing of Taylor by police officers and the initial lack of charges against the LMPD officers involved sparked numerous protests with supporters adopting the motto #SayHerName. These protests against police brutality and racism were concurrent with the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement across the United States.

Before her untimely death, Taylor was an award-winning ER medical technician who dedicated her life to helping others and aspired to become a nurse.

Taylor's family was awarded $12 million in compensation and was given a promise the LMPD would reform its practices.

On November 7, 2024, Denmark used a racist, culturally biased "parenting competency" test to remove a 2 hour old baby, Zammi, from her loving indigenous Greenlandic Inuit mother, Keira, because her native language, which uses minute facial expressions to communicate, will not be able to "[prepare] the child for the social expectations and codes that are necessary to navigate in Danish society." This test had been recommended not to be used at the federal level before this happened but certain municipalities, including the one this happened in, chose to continue to use it regardless. Not only is this blatantly racist but also violates multiple declarations and conventions that Denmark has signed that protect the rights of indigenous people.

Hey ive had to rely on my CC for emergencies, meds, and groceries, when my partner and I had covid and no work income, thus were are still playing financial catch up in a lot of ways. Long story short I have been falling behind on my CC payments and a few months have snowballed to the point that it is getting near impossible to cover alone. Discourse aside, I am so fucking sorry for the trans youth that have to fucking see their rights get taken away by that fucking vile man. I am so sorry. I am scared that they will come for the rest of us. I knew this would happen because this is what they wanted. They want us to die off. It is going to be so fucking hard.
