so i posted this, and i'm so happy you all asked.

here's my dissertation as an oscar girlie.

disclaimer, this is s06e03 as a standalone, i have yet to watch the succeeding episodes.

1. where the fuck was oscar's qatar sprint win + his grand prix p2 finish...

he's a rookie who won a sprint race. i don't care that it's a sprint race, he's still a rookie who won a race.

also, the narrative for the mclaren ep was that the car was not up to par at the start of the season, then you have the 2 mclarens in p2 & p3 by qatar???? how does this, alongside the japan double podium, and all of lando's results NOT contribute to this narrative? how could they not include this???

i understand that qatar was a controversial race bc the heat made it dangerous for drivers to compete there, with people on the verge of passing out, throwing up, etc. idk if this is a hot take but i don't like the fact that this was swept under the rug (personal bias for oscar's win being highlighted aside).

2. i really feel like they should've highlighted how well oscar was doing after all the shit otmar talked about him for taking the mclaren contract.

3. he was rookie of the year, and i don't know why they didn't highlight this enough.

i just feel like they did not highlight oscar's achievements enough

4. onto not-so-oscar things. overall, i just feel like the storyline for mclaren was rushed. lando had a FUCKTON of podiums in the 2023 season after the car upgrades, and if the point was to highlight that the drivers were solid but the car was shit at first then made major improvements then... y'all missed a huge ass opportunity.

i could probably talk more about this, but i am hungry and i watched the ep last night, so i don't remember 100000% of the details.

5. why did they make oscar look so fucking mid by being late

so i was discussing with @scuderiahoney about how they showed the clip of oscar being late. with context, we know that he’s not a morning person and it would’ve been really cute.

BUT they just completely cut out all of his achievements. kinda seems like they wanted lando to look like an absolute stellar driver with a bumbling rookie teammate.

i love lando, and he IS absolutely stellar- i really was hoping he would get his maiden win last season (still hoping) but i just think it’s so… weird? odd? that oscar’s Ws were just nonexistent

lee put it so eloquently: we wouldn’t know how well oscar did if one just watched DTS alone

in summary, put more fucking respect on my papaya boys' damn names, netflix.

When will we get season two? PLEASE TELL US ANYTHING. It was supposed to come out in summer 2023, so somewhere in the nearest 4 months, and we don't even have a trailer :(

You'll get Season 2 in the Northern Hemisphere Summer of 2023, we just handed in the finished show and we haven't made a trailer yet.
