I’ve been praised for my intelligence and for my drawings, but nobody wanted to believe me when I told them about a new creature I’d found. So, I’m researching them on my own. I’m going to keep track of every one of my findings.

Hello, Alister. I am you, very far ahead in your life. 2031 to be exact. I know the younger me will never see this message, but I wanted to leave a little something for anyone who finds these notes again someday. Be curious, but be cautious. I’ve ended up in a lot of trouble because of these discoveries. Some of them aren’t even what they seemed. I made mistakes, and I wasn’t careful. But I’ve gotten to where I am. And to those that attempted to follow in my footsteps, Cedar, do not continue on this path. It’s not worth it.
