What I Get High On

One of my fav readers asked me what it’s like for me when I get high. I told them that I actually have never gotten high on drugs. Yes, I am not lying. What I did tell them was that I get high on the amazing comments that they and my other wonderful readers leave me. It sounds stupid, but when I am feeling down and I get a comment, it lights up my face and makes me smile. ^-^

Types of fanfic summaries and what they mean

First paragraph of the actual fic: I judge the whole fic by the first words and I assume you do too so here it is

"Just a series or drabbles/headcanons/prompts": Someday I want to write an incredible 200k fic but for now have fun going through all the chapters trying to figure out which one is the one you actually want to read

"Will X be able to find love before Y happens?" And other questions: I read entirely too many YA novels

Quote from the actual fic: I watch entirely too many movie trailers

"Basically just an X fic with Y characters": I can probably write a good summary if I cared a little more

Song lyrics: I have no idea how summaries work and I'm trying to be like the people with poem quotes

Poem quotes: either the best thing you've ever read or 13-year old English literature purple prose there is no in-between

Lol I can't do summaries: I'm not entirely sure if I want you to read my fic

"Wtf is this" or other author questioning themselves: it's either porn or crack

Explicit rated fics: listen my man I know you're not gonna really read the summary just read the tags and decide if my sin is the sin for you

Paragraph of tags and one line summary: ok listen I can't do summaries but I've got this ok IVE GOT THIS

dictionary definition: fluff or angst here you go

Either a meme or a tumblr imagine your otp: I was bored and I had emotions about my ship you can have emotions about them too

Paragraph from the source the fic is from: I've basically written my headcanon and made it prettier

"I'm so sorry" or "I cried while writing this" : I was in a sad mood and I needed a healthy way to release these emotions so now y'all get to suffer

No summary: it's either porn or a small drabble and it all depends on the word count

Actual fic summary: *rocks back on old wheelchair* listen kid *smokes cigarette* I've seen and read a lot of things *blows smoke* and I know it's hard but there's still hope in this world ok? *looks into the distance* also you might wanna read the tags because the chances of gore and/or character death being in my fic have gone from 0 to 75

Hey. David had more seizures and I am in bed taking care of him. He is doing alright. Getting ready to nap and the kids to clean their rooms. Kind of need a distraction. Want to try writing?

“Hey sorry, I was working. How about we write when I get home okay?”

“Hey sorry, I was working and unfortunately I have plans after work. Can we try again tomorrow?” “Hey, sorry to hear you are in a bad place. I understand I kind of am too. How about we talk later cool?”

“Hey, sorry, I’m kind of in a bad place too and don’t feel up to. Sorry again.”

All of these things above are what I would have said if someone messaged me those words like I messaged them. This is what I got back.

“I’m at work.”

Don’t Do That Again?

Seriously, I do not understand. I say i had a bad day, and you don;t even ask me how my day was or how bad it was? You say to ma that I am a day late responding to you and then you tell me not to do that again like i am a fucking child? I know you will be expressing negative sentiment towards me on social media too and I can;t do anything about it except just take it. Take what you decide to give me. How is that fair?

When They Don’t want to Write

Nothing is more frustrating then when the person that you are writing with doesn’t want to write. I don;t mean that they are dealing with life or personal problems, I mean they just don;t want to. No reasons given. 

When I chose to write with someone, I am letting the person know that I put my faith and trust in them to uphold their end of the fic as much as I have to hold up mine. While the ideal is to write everyday, in reality this does not work out usually. Still when a story is lying stagnant cause on of the writers is being stubborn or is just ignoring me, it hurts. I then have the dilemma of moving on without them, but also hurting their feelings for not waiting for them.

Anyone else ever had this happen to them or any idea what to do int he situation?

The Dilemma of Writing

One of the most frustrating things about writing is whether to write with someone or not. When I write with other Killjoys, I kind of feel more motivated cause I have someone to bounce ideas off of. They also keep it interesting. The downside is waiting for them to want to write and then if you do not agree with how they are writing the character and you know you would do it differently. Plus the other one can abandon you, as i have had a few do, and it can stagnant the story or kill it all together. Writing on your own if fun. You are in full control and you know how each character is going to act and say. The negative is the motivation to write can be lost and no one to share ideas with.

I still find it funny that this line made it into the “Bad MCR Fics” Twitter from Leopard Hakusho. They took it completely out of context too. ^0^
