if you are a young thing i have one piece of advice for you:

being enthusiastic and happy about things you love is more important than being apathetic and snide. you will go so much farther in life spending energy on and talking about something you love than wasting energy on only complaining about or making fun of something you don’t. 

don’t focus on mocking others for being genuinely excited about something. focus on the things and people you love. 

I have to end the year by thanking all of you who like and reboot and respond to my obsessions. You truly saved my sanity this year. And thank you all for helping me to further understand the amazing diversity that exists in our world. My students, friends and colleagues will all benefit from what I’ve learned about neurodoversity and sexuality. This is such a brave and welcoming community, and I wish you all a very happy, and healthy New Year.

For purely selfish reasons, here’s some pics of the boys that made my year sparkle:

I rediscovered Jack! I listened to him constantly in college and spent this summer re-obsessing.

ELP. I’ve loved them for more years than I’d care to admit to. This is the year they really became part of my DNA.

They all look so happy here. Their silly goofyness makes my heart happy.

Carl. He is utterly beautiful here. My lord.

This is a favorite picture for so many reasons. They both look beautiful. Greg is just so heartbreakingly sweet, and he’s got a huge pupper in his lap.

Finally, my heart. The loss is still a fresh open wound.
