I know Ozpin is intended as this sort-of morally grey Dumbledore; but he's missing Dumbledore's main flaw of voluntarily withdrawing from the fight in favor of letting a chosen one kind deal with a mad man alone because "destiny"

It's just wild to me, constantly, to see how much Ozpin's decisions are warped in some people's mind. He never asked the kids to go toe-to-toe with Salem herself; he gave people the training needed to fight against Grimm : creatures who always existed even outside of Salem's control and WILL attack people regardless of what he does. He told them about Salem because they were attacked by her hunchmen and they needed to know, that wasn't a subtext for "now go fight Salem herself." That wasn't the terms of their training; which is why is lying isn't actually as evil as some people make it out to be.

Is Ozpin flawed ? Yes. Does he always take the best decisions ? Not really. Was the lying one of his flaws ? Yes. The root of it was human and he had good intentions (on top of his trauma & trust issues let's be honest) but it was still fundamentally flawed in several aspects. Was it evil... Not really ?

I know Ozpin is meant as this morally grey character, who's sketchy and manipulative if still well-meaning; but honestly with what we were given I'd call him a very pale grey at most, so it's even more mind-boggling for me to see people calling him pure evil.

...Or say that he would have no problem taking over Oscar's body completely.

I have recently learned that during Volume 6 (and possibly 7) parts of the RWBY FNDM believed that when Oscar was missing Ozpin came back and now was now controlling Oscar’s body pretending to be him.

And think this is a reflection of the FNDM’s belief that Ozpin is evil, because that’s pretty fucking evil; and not something Ozpin would do

And I think pulling out of nowhere medical opinion on the state of his arm when nobody knows what happened just to justify that ''well actually he was just too impatient and he's a monster for replacing his arm so easily" is shitty. Because that's not canon remember, that's just someone's headcanon Have a good day. Go discuss with people who agree with you, there are plenty of them and you'll be way happier

Saw this on the main tag and figured it was a good way to start off my blog (even if I've already posted/reblogged a few things shh)

Hello friends ! You can call me anything from Nexyra to Nex. She and They are both fine; I'm Ace and an ISFP 2w1. As well as french ;) That's pretty much it sfsjhgfqj I created this blog mainly bc of RWBY content on Tumblr but there are many fandom I care about so there's probably gonna be other stuff later but well.

You clearly have no idea how lighting in animation works. Plus, Sun’s just tan, his skin’s never been that dark.

The gifs show Sun right next to Coco who has always been extremely pale in show, and apparently even takes pride in her pale skin in the books. So nah, I'm sorry to say it's not JUST lighting.

I didn't say Sun was POC because that's not my place (although based on his chinese allusion and how I've seen people describe him I wouldn't say that's necessarily inappropriate) and it's also why I won't be speaking of white-washing because AGAIN, not my place. Saying he's just tan works for me if that's what you want to go with; doesn't change the fact that Coco clearly ISN'T. He's not Emerald but Sun's skin is still arguably one of the darkest of the show along with Tai, Ilia or Oscar so I think it matters.

Yea I took a V1-V3 Sun screenshot because I can already hear the argument that Coco is only THAT pale bc of the different engines. Yes but that's not the problem : same season, CLEARLY different skin tones. And they're both in day lightning in the first screenshots.

Now Chibi. They're in the exact same place at the same time under the same lighting : Sun should still be clearly more tanned than Coco. Point blank

(again i don't watch Chibi so maybe this isn't NEW and back in the first chibi seasons they had already stolen his melanin; but that doesn't change the fact of the matter.)
