It's gonna be such a funny mess when Donald Trump dies of a stroke on April 1st, 2024.
Naturally everybody will think it's fake because of the date only to lose their minds (both positively and negatively based on their opinion of trump) when realizing it's real
There will be massive celebrations in the streets and on social media and lots of predictable "don't speak ill of the dead" discourse about those celebrations
Weird evangelicals will pull some weird number trick talking about how Jesus was conceived on April 1st and that makes Trump a sort of messiah and people will make fun of that
The Republicans (after they're done with the faux-sadness and faux-outrage) will stomp over each other to be his successor but none of them will succeed. They'll tear each other apart and have no single nominee for the November elections.
There will be discourse about if Biden and the living former presidents should go to his funeral (they won't, he was a traitor insurrectionist)
The Ukraine-Russia War immediately goes in favor of Ukraine as morale in the Kremlin is reduced. China similarly backs off from its threats on Taiwan.
Ten thousand new memes are made, some sticking around for years to come.
Not a month later a bunch of unofficial biographies of Trump hit the bookshelves, many with new details about just how awful he was.
the moon will sing a song for me i loved you like the sun!
things she has to deal with I swear😭😂
People in Gaza have been saying this would happen since the very start, as soon as the occupation started corralling everyone into the southern part of the strip they said this would happen. We watched it happen as the “safe” zones grew smaller and smaller and every time Rafah was targeted by air strikes even before this. And no one who could actually stop this lifted a finger. It’s been 129 days.

Look, this is probably going to end up as an unpopular post, because God knows the level of brainrot capitalism and fast consumption caused in people's brains, but I'd rather not get TV shows for a while if it means writers get their rights defended and recognized.
Entertainment can't come at the cost of fair pay, healthy work environment and ethical practices.
I haven’t yet seen a tumblr post with these resources so I am making my own and hoping it shows up in the tags. I ASK EVERYONE WHO SEES THIS TO PLEASE REBLOG THIS.
THE INDIAN CHILD WELFARE ACT (ICWA) IS UNDER ATTACK. AND WE NEED HELP TO PROTECT IT USING THE RESOURCES BELOW.
I am not going to go into heavy detail on the bill, on its history, anything like that, the resources have a lot of information, but as a little bit of background:
It is a bill passed that forbids Native children from being adopted by non-Native families. This is for a good fucking reason, there have been historically large scoops of children taken from their Native families, at a much higher rate than white children (see the 60s scoop in Canada). These children are often abused in these homes, and their entire culture is taken from them (many end up not even knowing what tribe/nation they came from), hence the point of why they were taken in the first place (forced assimilation). Now, this does still happen through the foster care system, but this has protected in the case of adoption. It makes it that only Native families can adopt Native children.
White people hate this and have been smearing it for years (think of the whole Lexi Choctaw/Alexandria P. situation, which was so fucked how they used that little girl). Now, the state governments of Texas, Louisiana, and Indiana have taken it to the Supreme Court to be ruled unconstitutional. This case is called Haaland v. Brackeen. Because white people … really want to steal Native children. This is being heard by the court, oral arguments start WEDNESDAY. ICWA could be overturned in the matter of weeks or even days.
PLEASE USE ALL OF THESE TO PROTECT ICWA:
Petition that will involve you sending messages to your Congressional leaders through their text automated system, only available to those in the US (BUT NOTE YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A CITIZEN, OR ELIGIBLE TO VOTE TO SIGN, JUST NEED TO BE IN THE US):
https://resist.bot/petitions/PCCPGW
Petition to send a message to President Biden and leaders at the Department of Justice, this does have a place to put in your country so seems like it may be available for those outside of the US but I am unsure (consider also donating to the Lakota People’s Law Project if you are able to):
https://action.lakotalaw.org/action/protect-icwa
Petition to be sent to the Attorney General and Secretary of the Department of the Interior, since it is through change.org it likely can be signed from outside of the US:

PLEASE SIGN AS MANY AS YOU ARE ABLE TO. PLEASE REBLOG IF YOU SEE THIS. PLEASE HELP US PROTECT ICWA.

not to be like "millennials vs Gen z" ageism but I don't think it's possible for a human child to develop normally without having even played leaf stick and rocks? Never made a mud pie or carved sticks into walking staves? Never played with a June bug in a mystery stream all afternoon, or pulled out the hose to make the mud clay softer to build with?
Something has to be weird about the first generation of kids to have almost 100% tactile outdoors play replaced by almost exclusively 15 second meme videos. And that's not even to say anything about the total disappearance of the middle grade chapter book genre.

To think– none of this would have happened the way it did if Sally Jackson had been taught to knock. (OR) a swimmers au where they are friends with benefits forced to fake date but it's all really a trojan horse because it's a chance for Percy and Annabeth to face some of their mommy and daddy issues fr <3

there are more of us than there are of them. they are asking us to be peaceful because they know this. they have assumed our peace was the same as respect.
they will tell you - being peaceful is the right thing, the honorable thing. they will not be honorable. they will continue to enact violence on you while reminding you of your morals - the same ones they have taught you.
i've said it before: there is no magical barrier stopping them from going "too far", there is no place where they "just stop". this only gets worse. they want to see how far they can push. in the coming days, they'll smile around their champagne and shush you if you post their addresses. they'll shame you for being so unfair, cruel, unkind. they'll go to ground for a little while, hoping it blows over.
they will say - we cannot listen if you raise your voice too loudly. there will always be a hoop to jump through, an image to upkeep. they want you to be pleasant, charming - easily ignored. they want to print out posters of your face they can mock up with devil horns. they do not want you to actually say - okay. so now i'm the devil.
bring it to their door.
to my fellow usamericans….in light of the supreme court overturning roe v wade, well known organizations like planned parenthood dont need your money right now - they have plenty - if you’re going to donate, donate to your local or state abortion funds
Resources:
abortionfinder.org
abortionfunds.org
lifebeat.org
plannedparenthoodaction.org
the perpollo wave has pertemis vibes and i mean this in the absolute worst way
I like my men how I like my women
the best thing that we can do right now to fight for abortion rights is donating to your local abortion fund, especially in states with “trigger laws” or laws that will immediately take harsh measures to shut down abortion rights as soon as roe is overturned. If you don’t know your local abortion fund or states with trigger laws, here’s one in Texas, one in Louisiana, one in Georgia, one in West Virginia and one in Mississippi (all states with such “trigger laws”). There’s so many more beyond the handful i just listed here but times like these are the time to donate and support the incredible work that these organizations do for their communities.

Summary: Annabeth is lost in time. Percy finds his way to her, but not without a few familiar faces helping him along the way.
══════════════════
Time kneels to no one, but Percy will take his chances.
Annabeth disappeared five months, two weeks, six days, and seventeen hours ago. Percy scoured the earth for her, even biting back the sharp tang of grief in his throat when he asked Nico if she was in the Underworld. Relief mixed with dread when Nico told him no.
She wasn’t anywhere.
Turns out Percy’s been asking the wrong question all this time. Anywhere is a bit of a misnomer. Anywhen is more accurate. And more of a pain in his ass.
all alone against the skies general audiences | 3.4k | for @posallys summary: a glimpse into poseidon and sally’s relationship
══════════════════
This is how creation starts: a god feels lonely. The skies, the seas, and all the creatures within come to be when a god feels a stirring of loneliness in the vast abyss of its nothingness. Creation is created when a god wants love.
Feel bad asking about another but "I called you at 2am because I need you" (48) would be great!
In many ways, dating Percy feels like skipping straight to the good part of love. There are no awkward icebreakers, no friends anxiously checking Annabeth's location during dates, no innocent questions about family and no strained explanations in response. They have slipped into intimacy like tailored clothes, something they wore for ages before making the perfect fit.
Like now, when Annabeth dials his number on instinct, knowing he's out with friends but will pick up on the second ring.
One.
Two--
"Hey, baby," he says, and the warmth of his voice undoes the way Annabeth shrinks at the joyous chatter in the background. "It's late."
He's having fun, that nagging voice says. Don't ruin his night. Let him be.
"I miss you." A lifeline. I can't say it, but I'll say it if you see it.
"I miss you too, always." She can hear him thinking, practically see the pucker between his brows at the hitch in her breath. "Want me to come over? Things are winding down here."
Annabeth squeezes her eyes shut, dropping the tissues back on the couch and pulling her blanket tighter around her shoulders. "Please."
"Do I need to stop for supplies?"
"Just you."
Percy shows up sooner than should be humanly possible, his forehead glistening faintly with sweat from the brisk walk to Annabeth's apartment. He didn't wait for the train.
Thick summer air follows him in the door, pausing in the hallway with him when his eyes find Annabeth, like even the air is waiting to see how he can make this better. His eyes flit to the tissues, the throw blanket, the red splotches on Annabeth's face.
He moves toward her, tucking the throw blanket around her until she's an emotionally compromised burrito easing into the comfort of his lap, warmth melting through her as his hands pull back her hair.
Annabeth closes her eyes as Percy kisses her forehead, murmuring an "I love you," that settles over her with a kind weight, the firm hand of a lover, the comfort of a cloak. And the bad night is still a bad night, but now it is so much lighter. Oh, it is everything to be held. How human to want what you can't ask for. How holy to receive it anyway.

mob au | the beginning in the end: epilogue
Mr. Hermes looks as good as he did when Annabeth first met him at seven years old. His hair is still slicked back, though now it is much more salt than it is pepper, and his well tailored Italian suits have been replaced with a wardrobe of colorful tracksuits, but the man beneath the clothes is the same.
Today, as he sits on the back patio with Annabeth, he dons a deep red tracksuit with a pair of white tennis shoes that have a winged design on the outside. Annabeth doesn’t think he could be any cuter if he tried.
“How long has it been, my dear?” Mr. Hermes asks as he takes a sip of his midday martini.
“Six months, I think,” Annabeth answers, her face scrunching as she tries to remember. “It must have been Caroline’s birthday party.”
Mr. Hermes chuckles. “You know, she hustled me out of five hundred dollars that day.”
“Stop.”
“I’ve never been so damn proud in my life,” he says with a sweeping hand gesture. “She’s just like Connor. God bless her mother.”
“Luckily, Katie is an actual saint. Though how she puts up with Travis I will never understand.”
“I’m sure he has the same questions about how Percy puts up with you,” he says with a wink.
Annabeth nods, laughing into her drink. “Oh, I have those same questions, believe me.”
The older man takes another sip of his drink, and slides an olive off its mini sword toothpick (Percy insisted those be the only type of toothpicks on the premises). “So what’s going on, kid? What do you need from a washed up old man?”
“You are not washed up,” she asserts, and sets her drink down. “I actually was hoping I could ask you for some parenting advice.”
“I think my boys would tell you I’m not the one you should be coming to for parenting help. I was barely around for my kids.”
“But you’re around now.”
“Because they let me be,” he says calmly. “Not because I deserve it.”
“Ruthie wants me to train her to take over the business,” Annabeth blurts, the panic evident in her entire demeanor.
“Ah,” Mr. Hermes says with a nod. He takes another sip of his martini. “And that scares the hell out of you.”
“Obviously.”
He laughs again, like Annabeth just told a silly pun instead of some life trajectory altering news. “Well, I’m not sure what to tell you, kid. This is her fate just as much as it was yours.”
Annabeth shakes her head, unable to accept his words. “I refuse to accept that running this business is her fate. It might have been mine, but it’s not hers. I won’t let it be.”
Mr. Hermes sits up in his chair, and leans forward to rest his arms on the table. “Why do you kids always think fate is equal to an outcome?”
“Because… that’s what it is.”
He shakes his head now, dismissing her out of hand. “Fate is about choice.”

“I hope to see you again, Miss…”
It could be a title, but the look he gives her indicates it’s an invitation to give her name. Annabeth plays dumb, knowing he’ll see through it.
Her chest rises with her breath. “And I you, Percy.”
He grins at the promise and the sound of his name, his eyes darting to her mouth as he turns his horse. Even as he rides away, he casts a glance at Annabeth over his shoulder. Laughter rings in the air as clear as the summer sky. It’s a charming sound, Annabeth thinks. She can’t wait to hear it again.
