Understand Why You’re Doing What You Are Doing.

Understand why you’re doing what you are doing.

procrastination

things i’ve learned:

procrastination is an pain-avoidance response. predicting that the task is going to be painful triggers your coping mechanisms and you do whatever you can to avoid the task at hand.

your emotions can’t be pushed away or ignored because your animal/emotional brain is trying to protect you from threats to your physical/mental health. if the task you’re doing is painful, you have to acknowledge those feelings. find the source of your anxiety and how you expect yourself to feel doing the task. then use dbt skills to help regulate emotions, actions and expectations.

things have to be broken into smaller tasks. ask yourself: what’s the next action? what’s the next task? break it down into steps that are manageable. focus on what you want to achieve in the moment. no need to worry about the “bigger picture” when you’re directionless.

🌍✨ A Voice from Gaza: Fighting for Hope ❤️‍🩹

Hi, my name is Mosab , and I’m from Gaza. Life here has been harder than I could ever imagine, but today I’m sharing my story with hope in my heart, because your kindness has already given us so much strength.

This journey hasn’t been easy. The war has taken 25 family members from us—25 beautiful souls we loved deeply. Their laughter, their presence, their love… all of it is gone, leaving behind memories that are both precious and painful. Every day, I carry the weight of their loss, but I also carry their spirit, which gives me the strength to keep going.

Our Journey So Far

When I first reached out, I couldn’t have imagined we’d make it this far. Your support has been a light in these difficult times, and we are so deeply grateful for every single contribution.

But the road ahead is still challenging. Every day, we’re reminded of how much we’ve lost and how much we still need to rebuild.

Here’s what life in Gaza looks like for my family right now:

🏠 Safety: The uncertainty of tomorrow weighs heavily on us.

😢 Loss: The absence of the 25 family members we’ve lost is a pain we carry every moment.

💔 Dreams on Hold: The future feels so far away when survival takes all our strength.

How You Can Help Us Cross the Finish Line Even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference:

$5 may seem small, but for us, it’s a little relief, a moment of comfort, and a reminder that kindness still exists. ❤️

Can’t donate? Reblog this post to help us reach someone who can. Every share matters more than you know.

Why Your Support Matters Your kindness isn’t just about helping us meet our goal—it’s about reminding us that we’re not alone in this fight. It’s about hope. It’s about survival. And it’s about giving my family a chance to rebuild our lives, even in the face of unimaginable loss.

Thank you for helping us get this far. Your generosity and compassion have already brought us closer to a better tomorrow, and for that, I’m endlessly grateful.

With all my love and gratitude,

How to stop procrastinating

This has been requested so here we go! I have been studying for my finals for months now (and they are coming tomorrow!!!!) so I did collect some knowledge on procrastinating and how to stop it:

Realise that whatever you’re avoiding isn’t as bad as your mind makes it to be -Things are ALWAYS easier once you start doing them

Plan to do a small and not too intimidating portion of the task -Let’s say you have to read a book for an assignment. Then tell yourself to read 10 pages. Just 10. Later it will turn out to be easier to continue past that but now we need to trick your brain

Count to 3 and GO! -This is one of the smallest things that changed my life. When I really don’t want to do something I just count to three and do it. 3 seconds don’t give you time to doubt yourself and be afraid

Change your surroundings accordingly -Try to get rid off as many distractions as you can and at the same time make sure your surrounding isn’t unbelievably boring and depressing. Try playing music without lyrics and try to make your study place aesthetically pleasing

Get your phone away -Either delete your social media apps (that’s what I had to do eventually), turn off your phone or at least put it out of your reach (or a differrent room)

Ask someone to check up on you -If you can, ask someone to come and kick you in the butt if they catch you procrastinating

Take breaks that can’t turn into procrastination again -Go for a walk, clean something or just lie down on the floor but no phone and no scrolling! Nothing addictive or I’ll haunt you

Be kinder to yourself -Beating yourself up over procrastinating and calling yourself bad things will only make you feel shittier and less productive. Be gentle with yourself. Ask yourself to do things nicely

Sometimes it is okay not to be productive -Blogs like mine can make you think that working all the time is the goal. But it’s not true at all. Sometimes procrastination can be a side effect of exhaustion or a mental illness even. Get some rest if you need it

I hope I helped and have an amazing day!

Even when you're so hurt you never want to try again, even when you're so hurt that you don't feel anything at all, even when you're so hurt that you feel like you can't have hope ever again, even when you're so hurt you just want to isolate yourself and shut yourself out from the world, just know that the pain will ease.

If its not now, it will be soon. And its okay if not all the pain goes away immediately, little steps are fine too. Feeling less horrible day by day, healing more and more day by day, attempting to do and try more day by day. Even if the steps are so little that it feels like nothing is happening at all, you'll look back one day, and you'll know and feel how far you've come.

Hello, There’s no place on Earth more difficult to live in than this. It’s the most chaotic region on the planet. Our daily struggle just to get water is exhausting — we fill containers and carry them over long distances Unfortunately, famine has returned, and securing food is harder than anything you can imagine! There’s no infrastructure here, and the streets are filled with sewage, spreading disease, especially among children Despite all this, we’re desperately trying to find a place that is even somewhat livable I can’t return to my job yet to support my family because I need reliable internet and stable electricity, which are both expensive here. I still need your help, and I hope you can reblog this message and donate if you’re able to Thank you 🌹
