Long time no see :')

I just remembered this account exists and finally logged on for first time in a decade. And possibly to the surprise of no one, I still write fanfiction and it's still SasuHina. Go figure.

Some general updates:

"Differently" - AU, Divorce, Rated M, Cross-Posted on FF and AO3 is updated pretty frequently, maybe too frequently, but I've become kind of obsessed with where it's headed. I just updated today! It's posted on AO3 first but I'm about to upload the newest chapter (9) on FF. Maybe it's because I use AO3 a little more, but the review traction is a lot slower on this. If you happen to like this story or give it a go, feel free to review. :')

"Inevitable Reality" - AU, Rated M, only on FF was last updated September 2023, a whole 8 years later from previous chapter. Don't jump me. :( I'm planning on finishing this story this year, or early next. I re-read it recently (and cringed at my old writing) but somehow didn't hate it as much as I thought I would. I forgot how much I love weirdo Hinata and anxious Sasuke, they're too cute to give up on. I was searching the title of this and found it surprisingly on a few recommendation lists. Thanks to those that read it/still message me about it! I promise to work on it this year. I would offer to re-write and fix, but I am not as motivated to do that. We'll see.

SasuHina Month 2024 - I am considering doing it...we'll see! I want to work on writing in universe - I've been so stuck on AUs because I'm always hesistant to write something incorrect with the series. I'm actually re-reading Naruto (and in deep, nostalgic pain from it) and plan to give Boruto another chance. So, if I participate, I'm hoping to write it entirely in universe as a challenge. Stay tuned!

Finally (and just as a bonus wtf comment)

"You're Welcome" - that one's from 2011 (I was a child when I wrote this) and I will never read it again. I cringe at the thought LOL. I want to delete it but I love reviews and sometimes I read them (even if they're old) for a confidence boost. Idk why some of you read it within the last four years, I know it's not well written and that's just me assuming who I was back then - out of all my other stories, this is simply one I physically cannot re-read without my face scrunching up. Anyway TL;DR I won't delete but I wish I had the guts to. Read my other fics instead LOL

In an effort to avoid spamming the SasuHina Discord, I'll just post chapter updates here. I don't know if I'll post as read-mores whatever linked there, and I haven't really been active on tumblr in forever either, so we'll see. I'll likely prepare a fanfic recommendations post soon but don't be surprised if non-SasuHina fics make the cut - I've expanded the net when I run out of things to read heh.

Carol got a flat tire and can’t make it in time.

So here Billy and Steve are.

Sat on the floor, ice packs in hand like weapons, the two of them working as a tactical team to keep Heather's brain from overheating. That's not how it works, but Billy’s ocd brain heard that cold helps her feel better after seizures on a hard day, and sort of ran with it.

Their best friend is epileptic, full time under the care of their other best friend. The boys are no medical professionals like Carol, but they’re functioning off of enough practical knowledge to be trusted to keep her safe.

Heather, however, doesn’t like feeling crowded.

Now that she’s responsive and relaxed again, propped up on some pillows, she complains, “Really, I don’t need babysat, you guys.”

Steve instantly backs off. He understands the feeling of overstimulation, comparing in his head the feeling of having a crowd around after a meltdown, blurry forms of faces getting too close.

Billy would. But his instincts are screaming at him to hold it in place. Keep her cool, or something bad will happen. Something he doesn’t even wanna think about.

He swallows his nervousness thickly, “We’ll stay ‘til Carol gets here to help you out.”

“You’ve said that a million times, bub.” Heather smiles softly, understanding, at the same time really trying to get Billy to understand she’s okay.

That makes him sort of sheepish. Embarrassed by the part of himself he always wished he could control. He forces a little smile too, “I’m not bothering you, am I?”

“Of course not, sugar lump. But Steve looks like he’s going to faint. And you look tired.” She gently pushes on his cheek to make him look at Steve, and yeah, he does look worn the hell out. Damn it. He’s spent too much energy caring for everyone else again. Billy would be drowning in guilt, if not for Heather’s reassurances, “I don't feel seizure-y anymore. I’ll be okay. I promise.”

Caught between two sides of his own thinking, Billy starts to chew the inside of his cheek. Not even noticing he’s doing it.

Until Steve interrupts, quiet to show he isn’t mad, just observing, “Bad stim.”

He always carries at least two chew necklaces for that reason. Usually his favorite cloth one, and a rubber one for Billy. The chewies hurt his own teeth, but he wears it anyways, just in case his Billy needs it.

It’s romantic really.

And it is as well when Steve loops it off of his own neck, and places it over Billy’s, giving him an easy fix to the harmful chewing.

Appreciative, Billy kisses the palm of Steve’s hand as he puts it on him,

Watching the moment, Heather snorts a little laugh at them. “You two are so lovey-dovey. It’s disgusting.”

Billy rolls his eyes back, “Aw, you’re just saying that.”

In the short stretch of silence that follows, Steve decides to scoot a little closer and lay his head on Billy’s shoulder. At first, he thinks he might just want some affection, but the action suddenly reminds Billy of something.

“Do you wanna tell her?” He asks Steve, trying to be quiet about it.

She hears anyway. Propping herself up, Heather wiggles her brows, “Ooh, tell me what?”

“Promise not to have another seizure?”

“You know that’s not the way it works.”

“I don’t know… this is pretty big.” Alright, so maybe he’s nervous and stalling for time. So what?

Heather’s voice gets squeaky in frustration, “Just tell me, William!”

The anticipation is too much. Steve declares it himself, tapping his hands excitedly, “We’re getting married!!”

Grocery bags and car keys are dropped to the floor behind them. Carol’s home, and she has Tommy with her.

Billy and Steve will be the first of their friends to get married. It might help that they don’t have college or kids or budding careers in the way, but Billy’s proud of the achievement anyways.

Tommy flashes a signature cheeseburger smile and gives a thumbs up behind Carol, who herself shrieks, “What?! Tell. Me. Everything!!”

Everything including Billy dropping the ring under the couch and losing it, or Steve crying so hard he got the hiccups, and couldn’t eat the cookies Billy baked to celebrate?

He won’t say no, but they’re going to be here for a while.

BEHOLD! This year's gingerbread creation: Ginger the Octopus!

I bought a pepakura pattern from Papercraftfreakshop on Etsy (link here) and used that as a base, even though I had to adapt it a bit due to me making it in ... well, gingerbread.

The whole thing is 100% edible, and made out of gingerbread, icing (or is it called frosting?) and small chocolate candies only.

It has taken me ... AGES. Approximately about 30-40 hours? (just baking the pieces, one by one, took 15 hours over a weekend) But worth it. Look at her. She's so pretty.

Black Gel Food Coloring can be used to achieve a black ice cream color instead of activated charcoal (or you can use black cocoa powder!)

My Eddie Munson Ref Post

Eddie’s tattoos~ the artists did an awesome job with these! I really appreciate small details like these; most aren’t ever fully visible in show, but they add a lot of character depth. Originals were posted on Amy L Forsythe’s instagram account, I just sketched the little placement maps.

The rings on his left were easy to find via Google. Those models have been made and sold for a long time and this style is still popular in metal and biker aesthetics. The ring on his right hand is more obscure; I was able to find a handful of lookalikes, but not with the same stone, or more inlaid stone work…? If anyone else digs deeper and finds out more about it, leave me info and I’ll edit the post 🙂 But as it is, simple observance and good close up shots make great refs.

The button style pins on the jacket are easy to find, plenty of independent artists remake these on Etsy if you can’t find officially licensed ones. W.A.S.P. ‘s metal pin may only be available/easier to find through officially licensed sellers, just ‘cause ya know, metal pins are a little harder to make than button pins. But! All bands are still currently active, so that also makes things easier for those looking to actually buy 🙂

These pages may seem a little redundant, but I wanted to include actual shots for placement notes and good clear individual shots of the patches for drawing reference ; a lot of the scenes are dark, people are moving around, etc. and a few of the patches are on the sides of the jacket, they’re not fully visible a majority of the time anyway. Most of these can be found pretty quickly and easily on the internet, like the pins. Even the Dio shirt should still be easy enough to obtain for a cosplayer, although a special vintage shirt was donated to the team for wardrobe. Iron Maiden and Megadeth are still active, Dio and Motörhead are not, though.

So, here we have a nice little collective post! Hope this helps some other artists/cosplayers/fans and saves you some time digging on your own. This was a lot of fun to do!
