Why Lukanette deserves recognition:

He cheered Marinette the FIRST TIME they met and gave her one of his guitar picks which I think is the sweetest form of love.

Marinette is able to communicate with Luka a lot better than Adrien. She may still stutter but she’s able to still have a normal conversation with him. AND LUKA DOES NOT EVEN MIND HER STUTTERING. HE FUCKING LOVES HER LIKE THAT.

They’re literally a balanced as fuck couple. They’re like ying and yang.

Luka said Marinette is literally the song inside his head since the day they met aND IF THAT IS NOT THE SWEETEST THING ANYONE HAS EVER SAID I-

I would just like to add…

Luka expresses his feelings towards Marinette to let her know how he felt towards her and what she means to him. Even if she ended up with Adrien, he needed to let her know that she was someone important in his life and that whatever she decides, he’ll always be there.

Ok. So this is just something I noticed in the ep. Earlier, we get this adorable scene where Luka and Marinette just click and seem to get the same idea with no other communication whatsoever. Like, they already know what each other is thinking and they know the other knows too. Initially, I thought was a Ladynoir parallel because they usually do the same thing during their own trysts.

But then, later on in the episode, Chat Noir and Ladybug look like they’re at a total dissonance. Maybe it’s a post-Oblivio effect or Chat’s more dense than usual, but the point is Ladynoir somehow doesn’t have that same level of communication as before. Like Ladybug gives up pretty quickly and just ends up texting him everything…and even then, Chat Noir kinda takes a while to get it, and makes a lot of jokes along the way. (Like why was he so happy about the fact that Ladybug might be her superhero persona permanently? Like, he even joked about it being a good thing? Weird flex, but ok)

Like, no salt…but that’s weird, right? Like why are these two situations being presented to us in the audience, when clearly, in previous episodes Ladynoir have no trouble communicating their plans without words and even get back to that rhythm later on?

Like, is it to show us that, hopefully, maybe, finally, there’ll be some change in the dynamics? Because season 1 Mari would have never been so taken with another dude (e.g. Nino, Nath, Chat Noir), but now Adrien doesn’t even cross her mind. Like, color me impressed, that’s development I didn’t expect. (And I’m kinda hoping it sticks).

Like, these are only my unorganized thoughts, feel free to disagree with me. But did anyone else notice the difference in atmosphere with the Ladynoir confession scenes and the Lukanette confession scenes we’ve had so far?

Anyways, I still ship Love Square but I also ship Lukanette and rn, I think deviance from the love square would be good for them, because Oblivio showed that without all the complicated factors of the love square with idealization and stuff, Adrienette is adorable. Meanwhile, Lukanette is a mutually supportive relationship where Marinette and Luka can both benefit from, and even if it doesn’t work out in the long run, they look like they’d be pretty happy together for the short time they would have.

(P.S. Rose looking confused is a MOOD)

Edit: So, I re-watched the ep, and apparently the whole Chat Noir thing being too nonchalant about Ladybug’s situation was an oversight on my part. Sorry about that. He looks pretty distressed before making a joke about it. Unfortunately Ladybug doesn’t take it too well. But even with that thought, Chat was pretty wholesome this ep so I didn’t mind tbh.

Also, this ep is apparently before Oblivio? Thanks to @karokitten-chan for pointing that out. Now, I’m curious about the in-between episodes but that’s another post.

Adrien: Look Luka, you’re a nice guy. But I have to look out for Marinette. So anything you do to her, you have to do with me first.

Luka:(Rolls his eyes, thinking it’s a bluff) Okay sure, so if I want to kiss Marinette, I’m gonna have to kiss you first?

Adrien: (Looks at him) Pucker up pal.

Adrien couldn't believe it. His wife of 2 and a half years was leaving him and their daughter, Odette.

She didn't even bother telling the truth and just tried to make up a pathetic lie.

"Prince Ali has summ-"

Adrien cut her off, "Oh give it a rest, Lila. I know you're full of bullshit. Marinette was right about you. You're nothing but a liar and a cheat."

Lila laughed at him, "So what? What Marinette thought doesn't matter. Nobody has seen her in 5 years, since graduation. Last I heard, or rather told, she was a failing designer with a deadbeat boyfriend."

"Why are you leaving in the first place? Am I not good enough for you?"

She smirked, "I only married you for the money, Adrien. I thought you knew that. It was lucky I got pregnant or you would have never proposed. But now that daddy dearest is gone to jail, you have no money. All you have is that brat and your teaching course, so I'm leaving."

She turned around before walking out of the house, "And don't worry about custody or visitations. You can have the brat"

.....

"Don't worry, dude. There's plenty of fish in the sea." Nino tried to comfort Adrien, tried being the key word.

Alya was standing at the side fuming, "How could you do this to Lila?! She was nothing but loyal to you! This is how you repay her?! Sleeping with that housewrecker?!"

'Yeah, loyal. Lila hasn't been loyal to me since we started dating.'

Nino looked over at Alya, "Chill, babe, I doubt Adrien would sleep with Marinette, of all people. Especially, after how she just abandoned everyone after graduation."

Alya almost burst with how much anger she felt from even thinking about how Marinette dropped the class without notice.

"Hmph. I can't wait until the reunion. Then I can shove this in her smug face! She won't know what hit her."

.....

Adrien walked into his old schools P. E. Hall. It looked almost exactly the same. Only a few people were as early as he was. Including Lila.

He could hear her sob story from where he stood on the opposite side of the room.

"And I heard sounds coming from the bedroom, so naturally I go in. All I could see was that bitch in bed with him with a smug look on her face. And what's worse, Ol- On -- the baby was in the next room crying. I should have known, he's been sneaking out every night."

All Adrien had was Chat Noir, Odette and his friends. And now Lila was taking his friend's away. He thought back to several months ago when he and Ladybug finally defeated Hawkmoth, his father. It was three weeks later that Ladybug told him that she couldn't help him for a while but that she would be back fighting street crime with him as soon as possible. That was the last time he saw Ladybug.

Adrien sighed, dejectedly. He noticed his old classmates and their significant others beginning to arrive, so he began to talk to people in his old classes, that he hasn't seen in 5 years.

He was enjoying catching up with old classmates when he saw someone who he didn't expect to see ever again, or at least not in person, "Luka?"

Luka still was taller than him and had his signature (albeit shorter) blue hair, but now he had more piercings, a few tattoos and fans surrounding him. Being a famous rock star would do that to you.

Luka turned around and smiled, "Adrien! I haven't seen you since KittySection broke up. What have you been up to, man?"

Adrien smiled, he was glad be didn't go to Luka's head, he was a good guy. "Well, I'm actually currently working on getting my teaching degree. What are you doing here anyways? You were a few years ahead of us, right? "

"That's great, Adrien! I'm actually here as a guest. Actually, while I'm speaking to you, what's with all this drama about you?"

Adrien dropped his smile, "Oh. My wife -- ex-wife -- is spreading rumours that I cheated on her with Marinette. Crazy, right?"

Luka's face softened, "Yeah, crazy. If you want I could help you out?"

"Could you, please?"

.....

Luka walked over to where Lila was standing with the girls from her class, sans Rose, Alix, Juleka and Chloe.

It seemed she was telling her story, again. "And then I saw that homewrecker, Marinette, on top of him! While the baby cried in the other room! How cruel could she be?"

Luka stepped up, "Forgive me for intruding, but when exactly was this? I heard you only filed for divorce recently, I couldn't imagine staying with a cheater long after finding out."

Lila perked up, she recognised Luka, of course, he was a famous musician and to have someone so famous wrapped around her finger, she could feel the admiration already

"Oh, it was only 2 weeks ago. She looked exactly like she did back in school. I can't believe Marinette would do something so spiteful. She was always jealous of me."

Luka grinned, "I can't believe it either. Did you say two weeks ago?"

Lila nodded.

"That's weird, because Marinette was on tour with me for the last 4 months until two days ago."

Lila sputtered, "Wh-why would she be on tour with you?"

Juleka who had been listening in to the conversation said quietly, "She's his wife. They've been married since she was 19 and he was 21." Luka held up his hand to show the ring.

Lila widened her eyes, she looked considerably panicked, "Oh you poor thing, she married you only for the fame and money, didn't she?"

Luka darkened, "Grasping at straws, now are we? We've been married since before either of us were discovered. We both love each other very much. I can't say the same for you."

"Either of you?" Alya spoke up, "What do you mean either of you? We were told Marinette was a failing designer."

This time Chloe laughed, "Are you blind? Even I could see how talented she is! My own mother hired her as a designer before she even finished university. The girls been successful practically since we graduated lycée!"

A small voice came from behind everyone, "What are we talking about?"

Luka brightened, "Marinette! We were just talking about you! Especially your old friend Lila," he pulled Marinette in front of him, "She looks just like she did go in school doesn't she?"

In fact, Marinette did look exactly the same except for one big difference, she was very heavily pregnant.

Luka continued, "What was that story about Marinette, again? That she was spiteful, having an affair and looked exactly the same as in lycée?" His eyes darkened, "If you're going to lie about your husband, leave my Marinette out of it!"

Lila was suddenly being ganged up on by everyone, questioning her previous lies. She felt overwhelmed, but when she caught sight of Marinette all she felt was anger.

"YOU! THIS IS YOUR FAULT! IF YOU HAVEN'T COME TONIGHT EVERYTHING WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE!"

Then Lila lunged at Marinette, blinded by her anger. She was able to get in one good scratch on her face, drawing blood, before being punched and flipped over onto her back, by none other than Marinette herself.

Everyone was shocked to see the pregnant woman fight back against Lila and win despite the fact that she had to waddle while walking.

.....

Soon the police had to come arrest Lila for aggravated assault on a pregnant woman. After interviewing all witnesses and asking Marinette if she wanted to press charges (to which she denied), the police left.

Suddenly, all of Marinettes old friends that didn't believe her were beside her asking for forgiveness for believing the liar. She of course forgave her old classmates but told them that she couldn't be friends with them anymore, at least not until they regained her trust.

However, as soon as everything started to calm down, a wet substance fell into the floor under Marinette.

"Luka? My water broke."

On the way to the hospital Luka held Marinettes hand, "I can't wait to meet my little girl and boy!"

"I think little Apolline and Fabien can't wait to meet you."

A squeaky voice called out, "What about me?"

Marinette smiled, "I bet they can't wait to meet you either, Tikki, they'll love you!"

Tikki giggled and flew back into Marrinette's hair to hide as they were approaching the hospital.

Luka kissed Marinette's hand, "I love you, Buginette. And I love my babybugs, as well."

Okay guys, here me out: Wicked AU

Basically imagine Lila just keeps lying and Marinette finally snaps, calling her out on her bullshit and everyone is pissed and Marinette is just like yeah fuck this, and leaves and Adrien tries to plead with her to apologize and basically it’s Defying Gravity with Marinette as Elphaba and Adrien as Glinda and it ends with Marinette choosing to do what’s best for herself and it was okay, let everyone think she’s wicked–at least she won’t be bowing down to anyone. 

So months pass and the school regards Marinette as a terrible person but she is still confident and proud. She laughs at the image that’s been given to her. No one goes near her or else it would be social suicide. 

Finally, Chloe is fed up and joins Marinette, Sabrina follows. Chloe knows Marinette is not a bully–she even is kind to her. Naturally, Chloe and Sabrina get shunned but ironically, they find Marinette’s company far more enjoyable than their other classmates and become overprotective of her against the class and Lila. 

In comes new student Felix, who sits in the back with Marinette, finding everyone in the class to be loud and annoying or trying to get into his space. Marinette is surprised, but offers him a sunny smile and lets him be. Felix finds her respect of his boundaries comforting. It isn’t long before Lila and the class, sans Adrien, try to convince Felix Marinette is wicked, but he doesn’t buy it. Marinette has been nothing but respectful towards him since he sat with her. 

Lila pulls something on him, maybe like steals something of his or vandalizes his bag, and tries to frame Marinette, who only faces him and says she didn’t do it, but she would do whatever it took to fix his bag. He sees honesty in her eyes and he doesn’t believe Marinette did it. He accuses Lila, noticing some clues that lead him to believe she was the one who vandalized his bag. Lila protests and puts up an act, but Felix doesn’t buy it, angry she did this and tried to frame Marinette. He tells off the class and says from what he’s seen, Marinette doesn’t do anything and doesn’t bother anyone so to him, they were the bullies and he doesn’t want to associate with bullies. They try to protest, citing that Marinette is a terrible person and Felix just says “I don’t care. You’re irrelevant. Get out of my sight.” 

He continues to sit with Marinette and they become closer and she invites him to sit with her, Chloe, and Sabrina. Chloe and Sabrina accept him, since they saw he was able to see through Lila’s lies and easily see Marinette wasn’t like that. They tell him Marinette has always been kind to them, even when they didn’t deserve it, so it was ridiculous to say that Marinette would vandalize his bag for no apparent reason. 

Marinette keeps her promise and sews up his bag, and Felix gets to spend some time with her at her house, finding it warm and soothing. Chloe and Sabrina often hang out there too. The four of them become a group. Marinette and Felix get closer, and Felix learns from her to not always be serious all the time. That sometimes life can be fun. She teaches him how to mellow out, but also respects his boundaries and interests. She listens to him, even when he’s grumpy, and offers him reassurances. Before Felix realizes it, he’s fallen for Marinette. Chloe notices, rolling her eyes, and calls him out. Felix gets defensive saying he doesn’t know what she’s talking about. 

“Well duh! Everyone falls for Marinette at some point! It’s happened to me already!” says Chloe scoffing, blushing. 

Soon Luka transfers to their school, worried about what he’s been hearing from Juleka. Marinette being evil? It was impossible to him. Seeing everyone shunning Marinette in action and seeing how she’s being treated immediately has him joining their group, very protective of Marinette from bullies. He won’t let anyone hurt his precious person. 

Eventually, Ladybug and Chat Noir fall out of balance. Adrien not sticking up for Marinette and ousting Lila riddles him with guilt, he often gets nightmares. He fights with himself, staying in denial. He was taking the high road–It was Marinette who chose not to get along with everyone. He didn’t force her to snap. Plagg has tried to get him to see his mistakes, but Adrien stays in denial. Eventually Plagg and the ring are taken from him, and Fu confronts him saying that he has failed his partner in her moment of need. Ladybug and Chat Noir need to be partners, and Adrien abandoned his partner. Adrien realizes that Marinette is Ladybug too late. He’s devastated. How could he do this to someone he claimed to be in love with? He is left alone to grieve for his loss. 

Next day he goes to the school and comes out with the truth. Lila is a liar. The class is shocked, horrified that Adrien apparently knew this whole time. Lila is quick to save herself, claiming that Adrien did something to her, and the others see that Adrien has been distant ever since Marinette has been shunned. They realize he has feelings for Marinette and deny he’s telling the truth. 

However, there are some who believe him, such as Kagami, who actually punches him when he tells the truth. She’s furious–Marinette was her first friend and Adrien lied, making it sound like Marinette was actually terrible and caused Kagami to stay away from her. She denounces Adrien and immediately sets forth to her class, telling them what she knew. Her class, containing Aurore and other kids, put to work to spread what they know to help Marinette. Marinette is shocked coming lunch time there’s a lot more people who want to sit with her. They apologize and tell her they’re going to fight for her. Kagami vows she will never let anyone steer her away from Marinette ever again. The girls cry together. 

Meanwhile, Felix finds Plagg’s box, and Plagg tells him he is now Chat Noir, as he has demonstrated loyalty to Ladybug. He figures out that Marinette is Ladybug, and he vows to be by her side on and off the battlefield. He goes to Marinette and confesses he now has the Cat Miraculous and knows she’s Ladybug. He tells her fiercely, embracing her tight “You’re never going to be alone again. I won’t ever let you suffer by yourself ever again. I swear it.” 

Eventually Chloe, Sabrina, Luka, Kagami, and a few others get their own Miraculous to join the fight against Hawkmoth. It doesn’t take them long to figure out who Ladybug is, and they love Marinette even more, also swearing loyalty to her. 

With Kagami’s class working towards denouncing Marinette’s previous image, students start getting smart, and soon Lila’s hold on them fades, and Lila is getting desperate. The school starts turning against each one of the classmates, and they are all angry and upset. Lila’s control over them is slipping, and they soon figure out that Lila has been indeed lying, Adrien was right, and they shunned their precious friend for months, claiming she was wicked and evil. They want blood. They end up getting akumatized and Hawkmoth has an army. Ladybug and the team defeat them, and they are left with regrets that they have hurt Marinette. They apologize to her, but she doesn’t forgive them. She actually thanks them because now she has actual friends that love and support her, and if they didn’t push her to her limits, she would’ve stayed depending on and loving people who didn’t return the favor. 

In the end, Adrien and Marinette have a talk, and Adrien reveals he knows she’s Ladybug and that he knows she will never forgive him, but he still loves her, and he’s going to spend every day making it up to her, and it’s okay she doesn’t love him back. Losing the ring made him realize he was being a child, and he needs to work on himself to be better. Marinette accepts his apology but doesn’t forgive him–maybe one day, she thinks, but not now. 

It ends with Marinette being happy with her new friends. Felix is beside her as always, and she eyes him fondly with a shy smile. He catches her look, giving her a smile. Everyone catches the exchange. 

“So I guess Felix is smitten now too, huh?” Luka speaks. Marinette squeaks while Felix gapes. Luka smiles “Nice to see you join the club.” 

“W-what?” Felix splutters. 

“Yes, liking Marinette is like a man breathing after all.” Kagami chimes in. Marinette’s face gets redder. 

“I don’t–”

“i told you, Felix. everyone eventually falls for Marinette sooner or later” Chloe flips some hair over her shoulder. 

“You–” 

“Oh, thank god. I thought I was the only one!” Sabrina confessed. Others sitting with them also chime in their own Marinette crushes and Marinette’s entire face is cherry red, and everyone coos at how adorable she is. 

I didn’t follow any prompt for lukanette august… but I drew this because they are precious :)

Adrien: I’m completely fine with them together. (Watching Marinette and Luka talk about music)

Luka: Your idea is a Whole Note better then mine.

Marinette: (giggles) That’s a funny pun.

Adrien: That is where I draw the line. (Heads over there)

Overanalyzing some things in Frozer

Okay so I’ve noticed some (possible) metaphors for Frozer.

First off this scene:

Notice how Marinette falls back as she looks at Adrien. Meaning she’s falling further in love with Luka, and away from Adrien. Notice how Adrien tries to catch her but hesitates, this explains how he can’t admit that Marinette is more than just a friend. But in the midst of his hesitation, Luka picks up our dear Marinette.

So this first scene intends that maybe Marinette’s falling slowly away from Adrien.

Scene 2

End cards in miraculous ladybug is very important. It really shows the main idea of the episode. As we see here, ice skating guy in the background, meaning he’s just the background (so not an important detail) in this episode. Now we can see Kagami and Ladybug looking at each other. I wonder why?

This is hinting that Ladybug and Kagami are now aware of their rivalry, notice how they don’t smile at all. It’s not a friendly gay competition like our headcanons thought, it looks like Kagami is a strong rival in the ML canon

Now look at Luka and Adrien, Luka slowly tilting his head to look at Adrien, this may hint that Luka also realized his rivalry for Marinette’s love, he seems to be smirking quite a bit though. That may mean he’s still in his friendly mode, meaning he doesn’t think of Adrien as a bad person. Adrien in the other hand, isn’t looking at all. Because Adrien is not aware that he has a competition, in fact. He’s completely oblivious, that’s why he’s just looking down.

Now let’s look at Marinette, in the middle. This says that Marinette is still torn between Adrien and Luka, I mean, just look at her here:

She’s still conflicted on who to choose, even Kagami had to force her to get up.

So yeah, that’s me overanalyzing the new episode. I really took my time here, this episode made be a mess on its own, but it’s got its traits as well. Let me know if I missed anymore metaphors.

OOF THE ICE CREAM THEORY

Remember this?

That ice cream from Glaciator that was given to Marinette, and is given to her throughout the show. The one that is completely different from everyone else’s because it only has two scoops while all others on the show have 3. Peach pink like his lips and mint green like his eyes. Okay. We all were like yeah that’s obviously representing Adrien because he has green eyes mkay or even it being Chat Noir at some point in time, because you know. But now we have another love interest that can fit into this! 

Okay, I’ll give you the peach pink lips. But he doesn’t have green eyes! That’s what you’re thinking, right? Then let me draw your attention to… 

Look at those beautiful light green eyes. The eyes that Marinette looked into when he confessed to her for the first time. Out of all the colors his eyes could’ve been, or the blue they could’ve stayed, they happened to make them green. Coincidence? I don’t think so. They don’t even match his outfit.

Can we please take a moment to appreciate this scene?

Luka’s anger came not only from the fact that his band’s work had been stolen, but mostly because Bob was threatening Marinette!!! He only had strong enough negative emotions once her career and future were in danger. He wasn’t thinking about his! He kept thinking about her at all moments! This shows just how deep and pure his feelings for her are. He doesn’t have a mere crush. He loves her.

Just like in Chameleon, when he was talking about Marinette’s righteous anger, Hawk Moth nailed his description: “The rage of a creator whose work has been stolen by someone a little bit fussy and who can’t stand them making the one he’s in love with suffer. Go little akuma, and evilise his pure heart.”
