This is when you learned the hard way that honesty is not the best policy.

Yujin was freaked out that you were going to try to put the moves on someone you had never met. She told Wonyoung about your plan, who had been equally put off.

Thus, you spent the rest of your summer days as an outcast among your fellow counselors and students. You racked up some cash this summer but couldn’t buy yourself a new reputation.

So…. I am kinda confused about something. Is wony and yujin actually dating or just pretend? bc they both have things to use against each other and idk.

It’s definitely pretend. Sure, Yujin has something against Wonyoyng, but in reality, Ning would never actually believe Yujin. Yujin had no proof about the Yeonjun-Wony kiss, and Wony’s words matter way more to Ning since they’re best friends!

On the other hand, Wonyoung has multiple witnesses to prove what happened (or what was perceived to have happened) during the party. (Ningning, the whole party watching the kiss happen, etc.) So Wonyoung’s threat over Yujin carries much more weight.

So pretend dating is the perfect way for Wonyoung to watch over Yujin and keep her as a pawn in her little game. She can watch her every move and make sure to keep her in line, or else.

The group goes up in a group huddle and does their group chant. You all get on stage and get your instruments into position.

"And coming up next is our very own local band, Fire in the Belly!" The crowd burst into roars and applause. But before you give Chaewon a chance to start the planned song, you switch things up. You begin to play a sorrowful song. One that reminds you of a better time in life.

It was ‘Downpour’ by I.O.I

Your bandmates are confused, but there’s no time to back down now! They start joining in the melody while Chaewon stares at you. She begins singing the lyrics; it was a song she was very familiar with. The crowd gets silent, as they weren’t expecting a song like this from you. You normally play uplifting rock music, so this was a huge switch-up. But something about the music moved people.

After you break out of your trance from staring at Chaewon, you look into the crowd. Everyone was crying. The song finishes up, and everyone looks emotionally tired, including your bandmates. Chaewon walks over to you and gives you a long embrace. She’s also in tears.

"Thank you. I never thought I’d be able to sing that again."

It was finally time to announce the winners, and you won! The audience was so moved by your performance that it went viral, giving your band traction.

You went viral on the internet, and your future as a band looked promising.

After everything ended and your band was all packed up, Chaewon walked over to you.

"Let’s go out to lunch tomorrow to celebrate."

"Yeah, it’ll be fun to go out with everyone!"

Chaewon looked deep into your eyes and kissed you.

“No, silly, just you and me."

This was the start of your beautiful future together.

the next chapter is gonna be crazy!! it's the first time we'll see ning, giselle, wony, yeon, y/n, yujin, and jimin all the the same place since high school!! i won't spoil anything but just know that after that big chapter, it'll open up a lot more explanation of ning's character and we'll finally get to focus on her more in future chapters!!
