After Yujin blurted out your crush, all you could is run. You packed up your stuff, and ran.
“Wait y/n, come back!”
That was all Yujin could manage to say. She didn’t try to call out your name again or chase you down to talk. Yujin wanted nothing more than to go after you, hug you, and apologize, but she couldn’t.
Yujin’s P.O.V
“O.M.G Did you see the look on her face when Yujin mentioned Jimin?” Haewon laughed, while a high-pitched cackle came from “Queen B” herself, Ningning.
“She literally looked like she was going to shit herself, so pathetic.”
Everyone in the room was laughing, laughing at your best friend. You couldn’t help but feel nauseous at the scene in front of you.
Wonyoung seemed to take notice of this and squeezed your hand tight.
“Don’t look so worried; she’ll be fine, babe.”
“We embarrassed her in front of everyone, and for what? Some stupid petty revenge?” You felt anger; who are they to play with Y/N’s feelings like this? What had they done to deserve this?
“Don’t tell me you’re feeling cold feet now, Yujin. You know the deal. Help us with Aeri, and you get to keep your friends.” Ningning’s voice felt like poison when she spoke, her words striking with venom.
You knew to take this threat seriously. You couldn’t let anyone find out what you did that day.
Especially not y/n.
3 Years Prior, Spring Hill High School
Yujin P.O.V
You stared down at the note handed to you.
‘Meet me in the library at 3 p.m.; don’t tell anyone.'
Y/N was never the type to be secretive, so this confused you. What could she possibly have to talk to you about? Still, you didn’t waste time and headed straight there, only to find a stressed-out Y/N.
“Holy shit, you look like you haven’t slept in days? What’s going on?” You exclaimed, It was true, y/n looked pretty worn down.
“Yujin, what am I going to do?” -
“What do you mean? What could you possibly be stressed about? We graduate in 4 days, dude!”
“I know, that’s what stinks.”
“I’m not following; we’re literally going to college together anyway.”
“That’s the PROBLEM. New college, new people, new possible connections.”
Oh. You knew where this was going.
“What if Jimin finds someone?” You could hear the choked-up tears coming from Y/N.
Ever since you could remember, your best friend has had a crush on Yoo Jimin. I mean, who wouldn’t? Jimin was everything you could ask for in a person: Top student, volleyball captain, and absolutely gorgeous. And, unfortunately, the third member in your trio.
You’ve all been really close since your freshman year—close friends, that is. That’s how you prefer it. You hated the idea of them being together. If they were to break up, then what would happen to your trio? Would you have to split up? This thought terrified you more than you could imagine. So, anytime you could, you tried pushing away Y/N from the idea of dating Jimin. Was it the right thing to do? No, but you just didn’t want to see your best friend get hurt. That’s all.
“No, I’m going to do it Yujin; I’m going to confess at the graduation after party.”
Shit.
Annddd there you were, celebrating away with your fellow classmates, but you couldn’t have any fun. You could only think about the potential shitshow that was going to happen later. I mean, Jimin really wouldn’t say yes, would she? But if she did...No, you didn’t want to think about it. You had to stop the confession from happening, and you knew just the person to ask.
“Wonyoung, hey!”
"Aw, cutie pie! I haven’t seen you since you flunked the English finale exam!” Ok, that stung a bit, but it’s to be expected with Wonyoung. You laughed a bit and tried gliding past her comment toward you.
“Could I ask a favor from you?”
Those were the only seven words needed to get the ball rolling. In a matter of 5 minutes, y/n’s heart had been shattered. You’re not quite sure what happened, and you’d rather never find out.
All you could remember was Y/N’s teary face, as she spit out the words.
“Jimin kissed someone else.”
You crushed Y/N’s heart.

i’m back with the guessing again ☝️🤓
imagine..imagine ning gets so overwhelmed with negative emotions (seeing giselle and y/n spending time together, possibly getting closer as well), and at one point she just explodes and spills EVERYONES secrets (all the things yujin has done, wonyoung possibly being behind the gossip acc (which led to giselle and ning’s fall out), etc.)
I love the theorizing so much!! The only thing holding Ning back from just exposing everyone is the fact that these secrets give her power over people! Without it, no one would really be scared of her. So she'd have to be really over the edge to explode. BUT I really wouldn't put it past her either, she's been hurt in the past and would definitely do anything to avoid feeling like that again. Including exposing everyone, so that they'll feel worse than her in the end! we'll just have to see how things play out 😼

A 14K diamond necklace around her neck and a 24K pleated gold brooch on her uniform blazer. Silky brown hair all the way to her lower back always straightened, never a hair out of place. All eyes stared at her as she walked down the school’s corridor. She had a small, polite smile and sat near the front of the auditorium. Whispers could be heard all around her.
‘Is that Ning Yi Zhuo? Isn’t her family, like, super rich?’
‘Yeah! I heard her family signal-handily fund and build half of the school’
‘No wonder she’s so pretty; she can afford it’
Ningning was a known name around town; she was popular everywhere she went. She was popular, but not liked.
Ningning learned the hard way that to keep her life happy, she needed to keep a small circle. At the moment, this circle had a total of 0 members. That was pretty small!
It’s not that she didn’t enjoy the company—quite the contrary—but it was hard to see who wanted her for her friendship and who wanted her for money.
To keep things at bay, she’d wave and have small talk with anyone who asked, but when it came to hanging out outside of school, she’d always refused. Going to the mall or to dinner always brought up the subject of money. Since Ningning had an abundance of money, her friends always felt entitled to it just because they were friends with her. It would start arguments when she refused to pay for everything, thus ending her friendships. Friendships that were her everything fell apart so easily. Had anyone actually wanted to be friends with her? Or did they just want her money? It was a story that repeated itself over and over, but that was going to stop in high school; she’d keep her distance from everyone. It was her goal.
That is until a certain raven-haired boy came creeping into her life.
"Yeonjun, Park Yeonjun. And who do I have the honor of speaking too?"
Unlucky for Ningning, she had become chemistry lab partners with the most social boy in all of Spring Hill High.
"I’m surprised you don’t know. It’s Ning Yi Zhuo, but just call me Ningning."
"Ning Yi Zhuo, huh? It does sound familiar. Well, what does it matter? You’re stuck with me all year, Ningning; get used to seeing this pretty face all day." Ningning rolled her eyes and gave him a small smile.
"Aw, come on, princess, I can spot a fake smile from miles away. You don’t have to pretend to like me. It’s fine if you don’t; I’ll convince you otherwise eventually." Ningning’s smile didn’t drop, but she did feel herself giggle. It had been a while since she had genuinely laughed at someone’s joke. She had to stop herself, though. Ningning couldn’t get close to someone else. But it’s just one class a day with him. There was no way she’d become friends with Yeonjun.
And Ningning was right. She didn’t become friends with Yeonjun. They became so much more than that.
__________________________
Meeting Yeonjun brought Ningning into a whole new world. One filled with adventure and curiosity. One where she didn’t have to force herself to be introverted for the sake of her happiness, she could be extroverted and happy without fear.
Day after day, he would come into class and tell her wild stories, half of which Ningning had been certain were fake, but that he only told her so he could see her smile. And laugh. Yeonjun always made her laugh.
One day, while walking out of the cafeteria on her way to eat her lunch outside, Ningning was stopped by two girls. One had long, flowing brown hair with a mole under her eye.
"Heard you’re getting chummy with our Yeonjun?" Both girls stared at Ningning, waiting for a response. She awkwardly shifted her eyes in confusion, but before she got the chance to explain herself, the other girl next to her with bangs began to laugh.
"Wonyoung, come on! You’re scaring her! Listen, she’s kidding. We don’t care what’s going on with you and Yeonjun; just know he won’t shut up about you."
"Ugh, it’s so annoying; you’re all he talks about, Ning. Just go out with him so we can have lunch in peace! Right, Aeri?" The girl with bangs, Aeri, nodded her head and giggled.
Ningning blushed at the thought.
"Aw, are you shy? Tell you this: Let’s go out together as a group. You could get a feel for him and see if you like him before making a move. I’m sure you’ll have fun!" Ningning didn’t want to go out with these strangers, but she did want to go out with Yeonjun. So she agreed, and it was the best decision she had ever made.
The group of four first went roller skating. It was Ninging’s first time ever rollerskating, and she learned the hard way that it wasn’t easy to grasp on the first try. With each fall came further frustration from Ningning. All she could do was watch as her friends laughed and had fun. While she lay on the floor alone, After falling down for the fifth time, she saw a hand extended out to her.
"Here, grab on to me. It’ll be easier this way; if we both fall, we fall together! Totes less embarrassing." Ningning held onto Giselle tightly, and the two of them skated together. Aeri never left Ninging’s side the whole afternoon, and if she fell, then Aeri fell right with her. It was comforting. Is this what genuine friendship is like?
After hours of skating, everyone was beat and decided to have lunch. Banter and jokes flew around the table; Wonyoung even told some embarrassing stories about Yeonjun. It was a blast! Once the check finally came, Ningning felt shivers down her spine. This is when the argument always happened. Were these new-found friends going to dump the check on her? Were they going to use her like everyone else did?
"I got it covered; it’s on me, babes!" Aeri called out.
"Oh, I can pay for my..."
"Nah, don’t worry about it; I have money for days." It was true that the Uchinaga family was rich.
"Just let the sugar mommy pay for our lunch; it’s the least she can do for forcing you here today!" Yeonjun shined a bright smile at Ningning and winked at Giselle.
"Aw, you think of me as a mother?"
Ningning laughed. Maybe this friendship wouldn’t be so bad. Maybe she’d finally found people who liked her, for her.

Spring Hill High, Junior Year
Ningning started her day like no other. She got dressed and ready for school. She had her personal chef make her breakfast, and she got in her personal driver's car. It was not a typical day for anyone else, but for Ningning, this was normal.
It wasn’t until she heard frantic whispering all around the halls at school that she knew something had happened. Before she got the chance to look for her friends, she was dragged by her arm into the janitor’s closet. After adjusting to the dim lighting of the room, Ningning realized it was her friend Wonyoung who dragged her in.
"Listen, I’m going to tell you something. You gotta promise me you won’t freak out."
"Wony, you’re scaring me; what’s up?"
"Ok, um, so yesterday I was in student council helping plan for Spirit week, and someone needed to bring the printed setlist to the principal's office. I volunteered, of course, since I hate being on student council. The president’s always so creepy and so boring. You know he went on a 10-minute tangent about-"
"Wonyoung, focus."
"Right, sorry. I got everything together and made my way to the principal's office, but on my way there, I heard someone making out at the bottom of the fourth-floor staircase. Anytime I hear love in the air, I just have to investigate! So, I made my way up and hid to see if I could get a good look at the lovebirds, and...
"And…"
"Ningning, it was Giselle and Yeonjun."
Ningning’s world had fallen apart. Her eyes quickly welled up with tears, while her brain still hadn’t fully comprehended the conversation. Her best friend and her boyfriend were fucking?
Her happiness, which she had tried so hard to keep, had been shattered. There are no good people in this world. At least not to Ningning. Not anymore.
_________________________________
"You fucked Giselle?" Ningning’s voice roared throughout the hallway. Her targets were right in sight.
"Ning, what are you talking about?"
"Oh, don’t act all innocent. I thought we were friends. I trusted you. Am I just someone you can toy with until you don’t want me anymore? Or were you just using me to get close to Yeonjun? Be honest."
“Ningning, I don’t know-“
"Wonyoung’s telling the truth, Babe. I’m so sorry. Just give it up, Giselle; it’s true. We messed around behind Ning’s back." Yeonjun looked sorrowful as he admitted to his "infidelity".
Giselle’s face had been twisted and turned in confusion. But Ningning didn’t give her the chance to speak. Why had Yeonjun confessed to something that didn’t take place? Why wasn’t Ningning listening to her?
"We’re so done. I’ll make sure you pay for this. You’ll regret ever crossing Ning Yi Zhuo."

15. double trouble.
•┈┈୨♡୧┈┈•༶༶•┈┈୨♡୧┈┈•༶༶•┈┈୨♡୧┈┈•
“Holy shit, Wonyoung’s coming; phones down." With Yunjin’s frantic words came even more frantic movement from the whole table. Everyone scurried to put their phones away so that it wouldn’t look like they were texting each other on purpose. That would be rude.
“Hey, babe~ How’s the food? Isn’t it delicious?” Wonyoung’s voice is always sweet, like honey; it felt like eating cotton candy with how light yet sweet she sounded. If you hadn’t known her, you’d be shocked to know that she hung out with a vicious dog like Ningning.
“It’s actually pretty good; we should come here more often!”
“Let’s call it a date then! And a hello to all you lovely ladies! Sorry for interrupting; I just needed to say hi to my baby.”
“Oh, it’s not trouble. It’s perfectly understandable to say hi to your girlfriend when you guys coincidentally meet up at the same restaurant. You’re never a bother, Wonyoung.” It was pretty weird that you all ended up at the same restaurant, but they did just open. It’s understandable for a bunch of college kids to go to the first place offering free food.
Wonyoung walked away, and everyone’s phones went right up again. Both tables were frantically texting, and the whole ambiance of the restaurant was awkward. Even strangers could pick up the tension. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to realize both tables were texting about each other. The glances at each other every 10 seconds gave it away.
Giselle was the first one to break the silence.
“Aw, you got some cake on you; let me wipe it off." She wiped off the frosting next to your lip and licked it off her finger. Everyone at your table stared at you two in awe and confusion.
“Y/n, what the fuck?” whispered a very confused Jimin.
“Just go with it, please.”
No one understood what was happening except you and Giselle, which is understandable since your plan was made in the study room yesterday.
_______________________________________________
“Why would she think Wonyoung would lie about that?”
You felt your jaw drop and your eyes widen. Is Giselle insinuating what you think she is?
“Well, if you don’t mind me asking, is the rumor true? Did you hook up with Yeonjun Giselle?” She could be lying to you, but you might as well ask. You were too curious about where this story was going to even care if she might be lying.
“No, I didn’t. I’d never cross Ning like that; we’re besties. Well, we were besties.”
“Then, why would Wonyoung lie about something like that?”
“That’s what I’m trying to figure out, and that’s where you come in. Wonyoung would never spill her secrets, and especially never to you. But if we were to keep her distracted enough, we could get some info from everyone else.”
“But why me? I’m sure Jimin or anyone else would be a better choice.”
“It’s simple; you’re the only one who can keep Ning distracted long enough for us to even get to Wonyoung. Everyone else is a breeze, but Ning’s tough; they’re glued against the hip.”
“Me?” In your mind, Ningning hated you.
“Haven’t you noticed? Ning’s tame around you. She does that for no one else. I don’t exactly know why, but she considers you human. Everyone else just happens to be a bunch of roaches that she’s ready to squash. Not you, though.”
“Ok, well, how would I even distract her?”
“That’s where I come along, my little kitten. Ning hates me enough for ‘stealing’ Yeonjun; imagine her fury when she sees the two of us together. Not just in a friendly way, but together.”
“It’ll be like you ’stole’ me from her, like you 'stole’ Yeonjun.”
“Bingo-bingo, my friend.”
“Ok, let’s do it. Let's fake a date.”
______________________________________
The plan wasn’t supposed to take effect so fast, but I guess now’s a perfect opportunity. You couldn’t really tell your friends that you were fake dating; it had to be as believable as possible. It did make you blush a bit, which in some sense makes things more believable but also way more embarrassing.
You wanted nothing more than to turn around and see the look on Ningning's face, but you had to play it cool. That is, until a certain honey-voiced princess came skipping back to your table.
“Omg, I just had the best idea! We’re all friends, aren’t we? Why don’t we combine tables? Then I can be close to my baby. What do you say? You wouldn’t have any objections, would you?”
Fucking shit. No way is Wonyoung on to your plan already? She knows Ningning wants nothing more than to maul Aeri’s eyes out, and bringing Yeonjun to sit at the table with us? Even worse. What’s her plan? You could feel your heart beating faster and faster as the table stayed silent. It wasn’t until you felt another hand on top of yours that you calmed down. You turned to the source, and Giselle was giving you a reassuring nod. Right. Breathe. If this was part of Wony’s game, you could play better.
“We’d love that, Wonyoung! Hey Ningning, let’s pair tables.” You turned to her and gave her your biggest smile. Behind it was true fear as to what could come of this, but you had to look confident. You will make your plan work.
Ningning gave you a death stare but simply scoffed and began to move tables.
That’s it? After glaring daggers at you all day, she’s just going to move without a fight? Fine.
There was an awkward shuffling of tables, and everyone got settled into their slightly cramped seats. The tension in the room seems to have gotten even worse. Now, everyone is face-to-face; no one could hide behind their phones.
“So, this place is pretty cool, am I right, ladies?” Can this prick Yeonjun shut up?
“Yeah, pretty good food, I guess.” At least Yunjin was trying to converse; you could tell her, along with all your friends, had been incredibly confused about things. You wanted nothing more than to explain to them, but you couldn’t risk jeopardizing the plan.
The awkward silence was quick to return.
“I hear half of you knew each other in high school! What was that like?” You couldn’t fault Minji for asking such a painfully awkward question, but in her defense, she’s barley in the group chat enough to know. The body language of everyone who went to Spring Hill High became very tense. Everyone straightened their posture and avoided eye contact with each other. It was Giselle who finally broke the tension once again.
“I couldn’t tell you; I transferred out before senior year.”
“Sure, ‘transferred.’”
“What was that, Ning?”
“Nothing. Just that, I don’t consider getting shipped off to a rehabilitation center as ‘transferring’, but whatever.”
“Ok guys, can we just be civil?” You tried diffusing the situation, but all it got you was a death stare from Ningning.
“She asked a question; I’m giving more context to Aeri’s answer.”
“Ok. That’s fair.” That’s all you managed to get out; you didn’t want to argue. You knew you would be getting nowhere if you continued.
“High school was pretty chill; my lovely lady and I here dated. I guess you can say fate brought us back together, right?” Yeonjun completely washed over any negative aspect of him and Ningning’s relationship and made it sound like they just drifted apart, then reconciled in college. The thing is, he couldn’t even bring himself to make eye contact with anyone else at the table other than Ningning. It was almost like he wanted her reassurance that they were in love, or more specifically, that she loved him. All he got in response was an eye-roll from Ningning and an “awe” from Wonyoung. It was a tough crowd for someone like him.
Trying to avoid Minji’s painfully awkward question, you took a bite of your cake, enjoying it. What was in this cake that made is so delicious? You couldn’t get enough!
“Oh no, you got more cake on you! Let me get it off.”
You prepared yourself to have cake wiped off your face again, except that’s not what happened.
The cake was off your lips but is now plastered on Giselle’s, or was until she licked it off. You sat up in shock. Giselle just kissed you. I guess couples do kiss, even fake ones, but could she have given you a warning? Before you could respond or even turn your face, a voice came blaring from the table.
“Ok, what the fuck was that?” It was Jimin.
“Oh, Y/N didn’t tell you? We decided last night we had a lot in common, so why not start dating? We look totally cute, don’t you think?”
The look on Jimin’s face quickly turned from confusion to hurt. Along with Ningning, who just stared at you,
“What happened to ‘You don’t know her, she doesn’t go here’” You forgot you texted Jimin that.
“What happened to ‘it didn’t mean anything when I hung out with Giselle’” You also forgot to text Ningning that. Ok. Double trouble. You have got to start reading your text more thoroughly before sending them.
“Look, I can explain." Before you even got another word out, Ningning had already begun spitting poison.
“What’s your fucking problem, Aeri? Huh? What problem do you have with me that you can't resist stealing from me? Are you that fucking obsessed with me? First you fucked my boyfriend four years ago; now you're crawling back for more? When will it end? You’re sad, pathetic, and lonely. Go fuck yourself.”
The room was silent. The restaurant was silent.
“Ningning-“ She was quick to cut you off again.
“And you. What’s your problem? I confided in you. I told you how I felt after I got cheated on. I thought you would understand, but it turns out you're just a mega-bitch like everyone else. Was anything you told me even true? If you’re already dating this tramp, did you ever really like Jimin? Or was that a lie just to get on my good side? Did you get your little friend Yujin to help you? You’re such a fucking freak for playing the long game. I bet you found it funny when I kissed Jimin at our graduation party, huh? Like it was all part of your plan? Let’s all laugh at Ningning! Well, not anymore. Fuck you. Goodbye.”
With that, Ningning stormed out; half-way through her meltdown, she had started crying. She was too focused on her words to even notice. Her group of friends were quick to follow along, except Yeonjun and Wonyoung, who remained at the table.
Before you even get to process what had just happened, round two was already brewing up.
“You... like me, Y/N? Is that what this is all about? Why’d you feel the need to lie? Did you not trust me enough to tell me? You decided to lie to me for our entire fucking friendship; are you serious? I told you that we could talk about anything; why couldn’t you talk to me about this?” Jimin was red in the face, slightly tearing up and choking on her words.
Speechless. That’s all you were. You couldn’t think of a response. Overwhelmed, you couldn't think of anything. Your throat began to close up more and more, feeling your body become heavier. You gave into the weight and collapsed onto the ground. Before your eyes fully close, all you hear is Sakura’s panicked voice:
“Is there peanut oil in this cake? Y/N’s has a peanut allergy! Fuck, I’ll get her epipen pen; call an ambulance!”
Everything faded into black.

You were ready for your newfound freedom and decided you didn’t need your parents help anymore. I mean, you’ll already be staying away from them for 4 weeks; what’s an hour and a half train ride? You did, however, allow them to drop you off at the station.
Quickly getting your things onboard, you sat down and looked out the window. You could only imagine the new discoveries you’d make at this camp! You decided to nap a bit to store up some energy before getting ready to greet everyone to the best of your ability.
