Being inclusive to autistics as an autistic is recognising and accepting that we all have conflicting wants or needs.
You may hate bright lights but another autistic may love them.
You may hate being in crowds but another autistic might love that.
You may hate tags on your shirt but another autistic may actually like having tags on their shirt.
You may love bland foods but another autistic may love rich or extreme flavours.
You may love infodumping to people but it may be too overwhelming for another autistic.
A spectrum includes all ends of extremes. And all of it deserves to be accepted and accommodated for.
Starting to notice that a lot of people complaining about lack of community around them are the same ones that talk of wanting baby-free airlines and other public areas, complain about houseless people, shame single mothers, and similar. Y’all are all for community until you actually have to help people or withstand a small inconvenience.
(Also just to clarify, not calling houseless people or single moms an inconvenience, the “inconvenience”is referring to hearing children crying/screaming/running in public areas)
Go forth, my Jonathan Sims themed ENA
thank you Canada 🇨🇦
Have you ever looked at a 24 hour clock and gone "too straight forward!"? Ever looked at a 12 hour clock and thought "what if we divided it again?" WELL FEAR NOT, I am pioneering the 6 hour clock; featuring the classic times we all know and love like 3pm and 7am as well as all new times such as 6aam and 8ppm! The new clock layout that solves nothing and makes everything worse!
Hello reminder to all that today May 5th is Red Dress Day, or more formally known as National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S).
Today is always a harsh reminder that Canada is not the safe haven many in the world assume, and we still need to challenge racism, misogyny, genocide and generational trauma.
Many won't be able to attend events, but if you can, wear red today to commemorate all those who lost their lives and their futures in our broken system. Wear red today to show your solidarity to Indigenous people who continue to fight for equal treatment, reparations and visibility🌹
I think there’s also a conversation to be had about how people think androgyny is waify and thin and wolf cuts and eyeliner. like some people are butch. some people have crew cuts and body hair and tits to the moon. or beards and hourglass figures.
i feel like everyone is all uncomfortable seeing people who are androgynous in a non tiktok kind of way but thats most of the androgyny i know! i know normal people who arent put together 24/7 who are androgynous in sweat pants and sundresses and first thing in the morning. there is more than one way to be androgynous and it isnt always a choice.
not including most of the talking heads ones because I already posted most of those.
