Tonight Show taping 3/24/16

Some little tidbits from the taping on Thursday night… Seth Herzog is always incredibly funny when he warms up the audience. I’ve seen it a few times, and never fail to laugh. He’s the best. Hashtags were great! The whole riff about corn had us cracking up! When they went to commercial, Jimmy came out from behind the desk and was mad because he couldn’t think of another joke. He asked Quest, but for the life of me I can’t remember what he said :( Then he asked the audience. One guy yelled “me so corny” and someone else said “the whole thing was corny”. Jimmy laughed and declared that the winner. Ben Affleck is a LOT taller than I imagined. Probably about 4 inches over Jimmy. It was weird to see him look up at someone, lol. They wheeled everything out for pup quiz in about 2 minutes. Rugs, recliners, the screen, the whole thing. They started the game, then one by one the puppies came out. How cute that they dressed them up! I still find it funny that Ben only had Superman, lol. When that segment finished, they taped some local promos. Then all of a sudden Jimmy noticed something moving. Gary Frick Jr had completely immersed himself between Ben’s legs! You couldn’t even see him! They wrangled him out and everyone applauded. Zoe’s story about meeting him at the party was hysterical. He looked so cute watching her tell it. She had another segment about how she always hands the kids off to Colin Hanks on their show. She’s not a kid person, lol. Then the commercial break waiting for them to set up Zayn. He came out to the audience, and mentioned that Zoe told him she also had on a crooked sailor hat at the party. He said he remembered. And it was Fritz, the man Molly Shannon married. Great story! Next he asked if anyone had questions. One guy asked about his favorite part of production. He didn’t have one in particular, he liked every aspect of it. Then he turned towards us. Melissa and myself raised or hands, and then the woman in front of me did as well. He made eye contact with me and pointed, but the woman in front thought it was her, so she began. She told him she had just seen his prom picture and if they still keep in touch. He laughed and said his date’s name, then commented how funny it was that she was taller than him. And he was shocked when he saw how tan she was when he went to pick her up. He said they don’t keep in touch, but he remembers it all. Next was Melissa. She asked for a dance lesson. He kept saying he couldn’t dance, but she didn’t give up. He asked anyone for a beat, but the only one there was Tarik. He hopped on the drums and Jimmy laughed and said he can’t play the drums. I didn’t see the dance, because if I looked to my left her ass was in my face, lol! But she got her dance and hug! He looked my way one more time, but then girls screamed because Zayn took the stage. I never got my opportunity, but there’s my excuse to go again. I was so close!! Next time… I didn’t really get into that performance, he’s not my cup of tea. But the young girls loved it! He immediately thanked everyone and signed off. No commercial break because they were over on time. He ran up the stairs for high fives. I had the corner aisle seat on his way down. He came around the top, and I got my high five and he held my hand. He had the sweetest smile, and I’m sure I did too. He makes your heart melt when he’s that close. He looks thin, in great shape, beautifully perfect, and his smile is infectious. That quick moment with him was absolutely worth the 7 hours of standing in line. Even if only for the chance. There’s a reason he is where he is. He deserves it, he’s earned it, he respects it, and he absolutely LOVES it. Thanks Jimmy.

RIP Gloria.

as many have you may have heard, jimmy’s mom, gloria passed away over the weekend. it truly saddens my heart because he’s always so big on making people laugh and smile, and now he needs it the most. i truly hope that he takes the time he needs to heal because losing a parent is never easy.
