Writing a Book for Dummies.

Lemme make one thing clear: Writers are self-aggrandizing bastards. What they do is not that hard. Most successful ones got lucky. The ones who consistently get lucky have just analyzed what works for them.

Here’s what steps I’ve gathered: 

1. Know yourself. 2. Know your characters. 3. Know your plot. 4. Know your story. 5. Combine your plot and story. 6. Know your themes and arcs. 7. Write. 8. Clean up your mess.

In the dog world, humans are elves that routinely live to be 500+ years old.

i’m watching olympic snowboarding and this guy just checked his phone before going down the hill and put it in his pocket.. he brought his phone down the hill at the olympics… this is so chaotic 

So this morning during the discussion of a new lesson in math, our math teacher suddenly got a piece of paper and drew a dot on it and raised it so the whole class could see it

He asks us "Do you see this point I drew on this plane?" Then goes (this isn't word by word since he spoke it in Waray) "The rest of the empty space in this plane that isn't filled with points are all of the achievements and good things you've ever done in your whole life,"

He points to the dot on the paper "and this particular point, the one that is emphasized among all the ones that you can't see, is the mistake that people magnify about you"

"Why do people have to magnify this point? Why do many have to ignore all the others, all the others that aren't emphasized on this paper? No matter how many good deeds you did or how many achievements you've ever made, there will always be this one point that overshadows the rest of it that people will focus on."

Then he puts down the paper and says "So? What is the moral of this? You shouldn't have people who magnify the mistakes you made, but people who support you instead."

And then he proceeds to dismiss the class for recess after that. Just w h e w
