You fell. More accurately, you were pulled.
You were so close. So damn close that he felt your fingers scrape his, and that single moment would echo in his memory for the rest of his life.
The look on your face as you were yanked off of the side of the building, heâd never forget it for as long as heâd live, heâs never seen that look on your face before and it was terrifying. You reached out, your other arm caught in the chains of the villain that had ensnared you, your eyes were wide in panic and tearing from the brutal tug against your exhausted body. A final, desperate move of the defeated enemy; having fallen to his inevitable death on his own accord, he made one last attempt to secure even the smallest victory.Â
âI WONâT GO ALONE!â The Villain bellowed, pulling harshly downwards as he fell from the sky, his quirk igniting with life and materializing as it thickens and hardens around the almost invisible silver lining that was his ability. The thread that you hadnât even noticed before suddenly weighs down on you heavily and before you know it youâre tumbling off the side of the building uncontrollably after him, a startled scream leaving you.Â
All Might and (H/N) had gotten the call of a pair of villains that had been causing trouble for the other heroes downtown, almost an hour ago. Just coming back from a mission that called for All Might to transform back to his frailer form, the mission having taken a few days and wasnât kind to either of you. Exhausted and injured, the two heroes went anyway, hoping for a smooth arrest but was quickly greeted with an ambush from one of the villains that had known of their urgent message to arrive quickly. The battle had still turned in the heroes favor, All Might had been completely ready to let his guard down and breathe, all the while walking towards his daughter that looked ready to collapse herself. He was proud of her, he wanted to tell her that, embrace her as this fight was a hard one, he could see the pain on your face as you clutched your side but you still smiled at him, limping your way to him. But, then you looked down, a chain suddenly wrapped around your torso, it was so fast and you both had hardly registered what happened until it did.Â
All Might had never moved faster in his life, had never truly felt the pull of a muscle so intense as the one tightening around his heart. â(H/N)!â he calls out your hero name, diving after you as he misses his first swipe at your hand. The most scared heâs ever been in his life, nothing held a candle to the look on your face as heâd missed you completely.
He doesnât hesitate to jump after you as you disappear from view and fall downwards, youâre already trying to rip the chain from around you, pulling and tugging to no avail. Gravity wasnât helping much either.Â
The villain, a man that called himself the Iron Seer, laughed maddeningly from below, the ground nearing closer and closer for himself as he spread his arms joyfully, âPERFECT! PERFECT!â his eyeâs lighting up upon seeing the descending symbol of peace as well. âIâll GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS THE MAN THAT TOOK DOWN ALL MIGHTâS ENTIRE LEGACY!â
All Might grimaces, glaring hatefully at the villain before turning his attention away from him and the impending fate of striking concrete. He reached for his daughter as she reaches the same, unfortunately falling with the same speed with those chains weighing her down to nearly the same weight of her father in his hero form, he canât catch up and he wonât slow down. He curses under his breath, but doesnât give up. âIâVE GOT YOU (Y/N)!â heâs not sure if you can hear him over the whistle of the wind in your ears, âIâM RIGHT HERE!â he was sure now that you could here him, your eyes wide at his words before softening sadly as you both continue to reach for the other. âIâm right here.â He wished to stretch further, be heavier, fall faster.Â
âDad,â you whisper over the wind, but heâs sure he can hear you, or maybe itâs just the imprint of your voice that filled every corner of his memories. Even so, he listens and tries not to look anywhere but your eyes, even as the ground approaches like fire spreading on oil. âItâs ok, youâd still be my hero,â you breathe, your eyes were filled with tears, he realized, his cheeks were wet with them as they hit his face like fast falling snow, they were cold as they struck his skin. His tears having rushed away too soon for him to feel their solemn touch, left to fall on their own path as they were left behind with the weltering form of All Might.
He didnât know he was compressing back into his actual form until he felt himself falling with less fever, your form dragging away from him as his weighted body began to completely diminish in seconds. âNoâŠâ he gasped in horror, he was falling slower, you were getting further away, attached to the added weight of the villain behind you. âNO! NOOO!â he cried, he fought against the transformation, his body tearing and bulking between the form of All Might and Toshinori Yagi, the pain was intense as his body protested in agony, but he kept at it.Â
You cried as you watched your father tear himself apart for you, the anguish in his voice, the pain that you could see ripple through his skin. But despite it all, heâd never stop reaching, heâd never stop trying to save you, trying to hold you again. And for that you sobbed with joy, so much that it hurt, so much that you wished you had never even took the call. You sobbed for picking up that goddamn phone, for never taking off this damn uniform, for not putting on that stupid movie once your father had burnt the popcorn as usual. You sobbed for knowing youâd never get that chance now. You cried for the man your father would become after this day. âI love you, Dad,â your voice carried into the wind as Iron Seer hit the ground with a harsh thud behind you.
âIâM RIGHT HERE!â he screamed, more to himself than anyone, angry tears running down his face as he urged one last force of air pressure that he could muster to get just a little closer.Â
It was weaker than any he had ever produced before, it was all he had, he choked on the blood that bubbled up to his throat, but it was all he needed to take your hand just as the ground closed into you both. He pulled his daughter into his chest, your arms wrapping around him as the chains vanished from you.
âIâm hereâŠâ he breathed, as he held you just as you both hit the ground, the world falling to darkness.

All Might woke up with a startled breath, sitting up a little too quickly, taking in his surroundings, he could hear people talking faintly all around him. He blinked quickly, rubbing his eyes from his hazy vision as the light him his face, he groaned tiredly. As he fully opened his eyes, he was struck was a splitting headache, he hissed in agony, curling over, pressing his hands into his scalp as his head throbbed and his ears began to ring.Â
Flashes of light flickered in his vision and he could suddenly see blurred moments of time he couldnât quite remember happening. But, for being not so clear, they were quite vivid and he lingered on them for a while until the head ache subsided.Â
An ambulance. Aizawa and Midnight running over to him. YouâŠ
â(Y/N)!â he stood to his feet as his memory began to flood back to him. His sudden movement startling a few people around him, he was sitting in a waiting room he realized as he looked around. When did he get here? Why was he sleeping?
He walked around the bolted down chairs and to the front desk, a middle-aged woman who looked a little to done with her job as she typed on her computer looked up at him, âHello, Sir. What can Iâ,â she began.
âI-Iâm looking for my daughter,â he said, quickly. His thoughts still a little hazy as his head continued to throb. âHer name is (Y/N) Yagi, she should beââ he continued, but was interrupted.
âHey, bub!â A hand was placed on his shoulder, hard. âYou just cut the line! What do ya think youâre doing?â A rough looking man grumbled at him, his other arm in a cast. Toshinoriâs brows furrowed in question, did he? He didnât even remember seeing anyone waiting. But, apparently he had cut almost a half a dozen people that were giving him the same look, albeit not as agitated, of impatience.Â
âOh, sorry, I didnât see you, Iâll be just a moment,â he turned back around to ask the nurse once again. He ignored the way he cursed behind him. âHer name is (Y/n) Yagi,â he said again, the nurse nodding before glancing up at him again.
âAre you checking in as well?â she asked as she typed in the name.Â
He blinked, âWhy would I?â
She looked at him fully in the eye that time, âIâll call a doctor in for your daughter and your head injury, sir. Next!â
He backed away from the desk at the confirmation but placed a hand on his head again, his eyes widening in surprise to feel the bandage tightly wrapped around his head, mainly his forehead. No wonder his head hurt. Pulling his hand away, he noted the stained blood on his fingers, âThank you,â he muttered towards the nurse before going to sit down as he pondered on the gaps in his memory.
He waited for almost half an hour before he was called, a doctor walking up with a kind smile on his face as he faced the small crowd a clipboard in hand. âYagi?â he called out to the waiting room.
âYes! Thatâs me!â Toshinori lifted off his feet, jogging to meet the doctor, before stopping with a relieved smile. Finally, heâd be able to see you now. Maybe seeing you would bring his memory back, he hoped your injuries werenât too severe and he could bring you home. Someone would have let him know if that were so, so he wasnât too worried. He just wanted to see his daughter.
âGood Afternoon, Mr. Yagi. Iâm Doctor Riku. I hope you werenât waiting long,â the doctor directed the two of them into a separate wing, going through a door to a care center where a few people were being treated for a few minor injuries already. âIt has been a pretty busy day.â
âNo, it wasnât long at all. Only a few minutes,â he answered. Looking around as they passed a few open curtains, a few kids, young adults and a handful of seniors but he hadnât spotted you yet. âThis isnât urgent care, is it?â
âNo, not at all,â The doctor looked surprised at the question, but hid it relatively well. âUnless you think you need Urgent Care?â The doctor pulled a pen from his clipboard to schedule, but Toshinori shook his head.
âNo!â He said, quickly. âIâm really just looking for my daughter, sheâs supposed to be here. And I guess for these stitches too.â
The doctorâs brows furrowed. âUh, yes, it says here you wanted to schedule an appointment for (Y/n) Yagi and yourself,â he flipped his clipboard up, Toshinoriâs head throbbed once again but he held back the aching wince as he shook his head once again.
âNo, no, you see, sheâs already here. At least, at least I think,â he began before he began to doubt his words. He couldnât even remember stepping foot in the hospital let alone sitting down in a chair and passing out, he wondered how he got here in the first place. âUm, we were in an accident, I donât know if it was today. Orâno, it couldnât have been today, maybe a few days agoâŠâ his head hurt, he just wanted to find his daughter, where was (y/n)?
Doctor Riku placed a hand on his shoulder and guided him to one of the beds to sit, a concerned look on his face. âhere, sit. Iâll look through the charts right now and check if sheâs on the list of patients. donât worry,â he assured the quietly distressing man. Sitting down, he fidgeted with unease of his own mind. He walked off to the nearest computer as Toshinori dragged a hand down his face, trying to gather his thoughts, reach into his subconscious for the past he had forgotten.
He perked up, reaching into his pocket. âMy phone. Keys,â he wondered aloud to himself, hoping to find some connection to how and why he was currently at a complete loss. He found keys thankfully, his car keys, but he didnât remember driving. His phone also in his back pocket, a crack against the screen, he wasnât sure if it was broken or it was just out of battery as he tried to turn it on. âSo, I drove hereâŠâ he whispered to himself, pocketing his keys and holding his phone tightly as the Doctor came back.
Riku gave him an unsure look, one that quickly wavered any hope that Toshinori had in him. âAre you sure you checked your daughter in? We have no one under the name Yagi that is currently in our care,â Toshinori felt like his head was about to explode, was he wrong, were you checked into another hospital? âBut, for now, Iâm gonna fix those stitches for you, ok?â
The doctor put down the clipboard, getting a pair of scissors to cut the bandages that had been leaking blood. All the while, he looked down at his hands, absently thinking of what a day itâs been, the last thing he could remember was falling off that ledge and catching you, he was sure you were fine, you had to be. He caught you. He was there when you needed him. He got to you in time.Â
When the bleeding stopped, his head was wrapped once again and Doctor Riku took his clipboard once again, âDid you hear about the battle between that villain Iron Seer and All Might?â someone began to speak beyond the curtain. The heroâs head coming up and his eyes going wide at the mention, âWasnât that like a three days ago?â another person said, beyond the same curtain. âYeah, but Iron Seer escaped! He wasnât found at the scene, remember? What if heâs wandering around looking for (h/n) and All Might or something? He could be in this hospital!â
âStop talking nonsense,â the nurse waved the much to excited boy off as she checked his temperature, pulling it away to sigh at the fever he had.
Toshinori Yagi sat at the edge of the hospital bed with clenched fists, âAre you ok, sir?â Doctor Riku wondered.
He didnât answer as he stood from the bed and began his walk to the doorway, the concerned doctor glancing back at the computer to pull up any information he could find on the mysterious manâs missing daughter.Â

Climbing into the front seat of his car, he puts his hands on the steer wheel, he breathed deeply as his ears began to ring and his head began to pound once more, he audibly groaned as he put a hand to his head waiting for the pain to subside. When it did, he put his phone to the charger and quickly pressed the power button, he sighed in relief as it lit up to show it was still working.
He wasnât to surprised to the many missed calls and messages heâs missed from fellow heroes, friends and even young Midoriya. He was surprised to see what some of the messages had to say, however, not at all what he had been expecting.
Please, tell us where you are All Might? We can help.
Youâve been all over the place lately, get your head together. Stop running from me.
I canât help if you donât talk to me! Say something, please!
We wonât find her if you keep this up! Get it together! Call me!
Call me! Weâll find her together.
Get a grip! Stay where you are! Iâm here! Where are you?!Â
Are you ok? Where are you?
I went to your place. Where are you staying?Â
Toshinori!
Yagi!
All Might!
94 Missed Calls
238 Unopened Messages
What is this? Was this what he was up to all this time? His gaps in memory, he had been all over the place and you were missing, taken, throughout all of this.
âOh my god,â Toshinori gripped the phone harder, heâd wasted so much time, doing what? Nothing! His mind had taken him from place to place and let him wake up not knowing a clue of what he was actually supposed to be doing, which was finding his daughter and saving her! He couldnât believe you were gone already, he had just caught youâŠheâd just felt you in his arms. What couldâve possibly happened in those last few days?
Iron Seer escapedâŠhe wasnât at the scene, remember?
That villain. Toshinoriâs eyes widened in realization, his thoughts clearing up, it had to be him, of course it was. He dialed Aizawaâs number on reflex, hearing the dial tone he blinked in surprise when the line cut to the manâs strained voice. âWHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?!âÂ
Toshinori pinched the bridge of his nose, regretting calling the man now. âAizawa,â he spoke, tiredly.
âWEâVE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU FOR DAYS!â Aizawa snapped at him, angrily. âYouâre goddamn unbelievable. Where the hell have you been?!â
He blinked, his head hurts, things growing a little more foggy as he tries to focus on the call as his colleague yells at him through the phone. âum, IâŠ(y/n),â he breathes into the device, the wind blows your hair back as you laugh soundlessly with a gleeful spin in the corner of his eye, he turns in his seat, nearly pressing his face against the window, â(Y/N)?â He gasps, nearly dropping the phone, but he sees nothing, just a flash of a memory in his head. âIâI, my babyâŠâ he whispers as he breathes harshly, his eyes watering, âMy babyâŠâ he presses the phone against his face as he remembers Aizawa is on the line.Â
âWhereâs my baby?â The hero presses his forehead against the cold glass, sniffling.
Aizawa is silent, a soft sigh leaving him, âToshinori,â he spoke. â(Y/n)âs gone.â
The man stiffens, his headache seems to clear up as his thumb drags against the screen of the phone, almost as if he were going to break it. A moment of forced clarity consuming him as he straightens up, âWhatâŠâ he chokes out.
âShe was stolen, donât you remember?â Aizawa continued.
He breathes, his grip on the phone case hardening as he presses it closer, âBy who?â
âThe Iron Seer, you idiot,â Aizawa revealed, âThatâs why youâre there arenât you? To stop him?â
Toshinoriâs gaze going back to the hospital, his head ache coming back stronger but he only grunts, shaking it off as he stares down the doors of the hospital once again. âYeah.â
âThen, do it. She needs you.â Aizawaâs voice sounds so fuzzy as his headache persists but he nods to himself, gripping the wheel of the car harder, âDonât let her down.â
Toshinori hangs up as Aizawa stops, staring, unblinkingly at the hospital, where you were trapped, where the nurses and doctors lied to him.Â
He opens the car door, shutting it off in the process. On his way to rescue his daughter, on his way to be the hero you needed now.Â
