Y/n’s eyes slowly opened, the bright light making it hard to do that. The sound of a door opening is what made her finely awake, she looked around the room and found herself picked up by a bunch of different people, her body still felt week after the events that took place one day ago.

Colonel knew the general meant as a prisoner but his mind went to a different place. The general walked away and Colonel immediately grabbed her mask so she could breathe, the air filling in her lungs made her vision come back, her eyes met the concerned pair before being escorted to the room again.

Y/n sat under the table for a small source of protection, a sound of a sliding door open caught her attention, the big army boots immediately made its self known when Colonel came inside while taking off his mask.

Colonel lowered his body a little to look at her before walking around the table, she scooted slightly away from under the table as she dashed towards the door but before she could even take a step she was already picked up and shoved onto the table.

“This belonged to Colonel Quaritch, diseased” she only looked away from him, he sighed as he grabbed her hand, his hand held hers gently before giving it to her.

“He would have wanted you to have it” he said, she gripped the the tags firmly in her hands making sure not make eye contact with the man sitting next to her “You I have a lot memories, enough to know that he wasn’t always nice. That isn’t an apology really, you see I’m not that man” he stood up moving so he could sit next to her.

“You and I, we’re nothing to each other but I can help you I can get you out of here” her eyes met his, worry made it’s self visible in her features, he laughed a little as he spoke “Oh come on I know you won’t betray Jake Sully, you’re loyal and respect loyalty” he spoke with slight adoration making Y/n slightly suspicious “All I ask is that you ride along or I’ll have to give you back to the lab coats” his words made it feel like she didn’t have a choice but to go with him, she looked at the door for a moment before meeting his eyes, she nodded her head making him smirk “Good girl”.

After that conversation she was escorted by colonel himself, he didn’t hesitate to hold her shoulder to make sure she doesn’t go away, y/n jumped onto the aircraft as she looked at the giant gun next to her.

Colonel noticed her little glance and grabbed her, he pushed her towards Wainfleet’s back and spoke “there is a tracker inside your shirt so if you try to run, I’ll have you back in 2 minutes and I’ll give a old school ass whipping, Understood” she frowned at him and spoke “Sorry Colonel but I’m to old for to slap my ass”

Colonel’s stern face turned into a devious smirk “Who said I was going to use my hand sweetheart” Y/n’s eyes blew wide, a small blush covered her cheeks as she looked away, not wanting to give him the reaction he so desperately wants to get out of her.

Soon the aircraft lifted off as it took them to their destination. Colonel grabbed y/n arm picking her up with gentleness so he wouldn’t hurt her.

They all turned towards her with a look of confusion, she lifted up her to look at all of them before speaking {You call that speaking Na’vi? Soon the forest was covered with the dark sky as the Avatars look for a place to settle down for the night, “Like I said we should go rest in one of the trees, it’s to dangerous to just set camp on the ground”

Wainfleet looked at her for a moment before speaking “She’s right Colonel, there’s huge things running around that could just crush us with out any effort” Y/n looked at him and smiled “Thank you blueberry” Wainfleet laughed little at her nickname, none of them noticing the clenching in Colonel’s jaw, he stop to look at Y/n before speaking.

“Fine but if I catch you trying to do something stupid, I won’t promise that I won’t throw you off the tree” Y/n rolled her eyes as she started climbing one of the branches, Colonel immediately went after her as the others followed.

After about a minute of them struggling and grabbing loose branches they reached the top, everyone started to unpack their sleeping bags to rest after the long day.

Y/n looked with a slightly confused frown “I didn’t get one of those” Colonel looked at her with a sarcastic smile, he didn’t know if his next words was because of his jealousy but it surly made her upset “What do you need it for? You can just sleep on the ground like those other animals” it took her moment to realize that he was talking about Neytiri and the others, y/n frowned at him before searching for a place to rest not wanting to cause a fight so early on this so called mission.

She soon gave up and laid against a branch waiting for the cold night to pass by. It wasn’t until 7 minutes later when she heard a small sound, like a hissing sound, she lifted her head to look around but their was nothing, then she suddenly heard it again.

Y/n started get worried and was about to tell Colonel when in the corner of her eye she saw what was making that sound. She turned her head towards Brown, who quickly moved a little in his sleeping bag, making a small space for her to climb in. He waved his hand for her to come over, her eyes lit up and walked towards him.

She climbed in as carefully as possible so she does not accidentally step on something fragile, she laid against his chest to gain a bit more warmth, Brown looked down at her and spoke in a hush tone “You looked cold” y/n let out little laugh but it sounded more like a sigh of relief.

After a couple of hours Colonel woke up, he felt bad about making her sleep in the cold night alone so he immediately looked towards the log y/n was resting at but she wasn’t there, fear crept into his stomach as he started to think about the worse possibilities.

‘I should have let her sleep with me, I should have kept a closer eye on her’ he thought as he started to panic, he looked around for a couple of seconds before his eyes landed on Y/n sleeping peacefully in the arms of one of his men.

His hart picked up speed and his breathing grew uneven not from the panic attack he almost had but the scene in front of him.

Y/n woke up, specks of sunlight could be seen coming from the trees, she unwrapped the large arm around her and climbed out. Y/n looked around for a little ‘I could run right now’ she thought, she missed Jake and those kids but she missed Spider the most, she hasn’t seen him in such a long time and it made her worry.

She stood near the end of the branch as she quickly looked towards the soldiers before climbing off, she made her way down towards the ground as carefully as possible, she reached the bottom and looked around for in case their might be any dangers but her breath got caught in her throat when a voice spoke behind her.

“Going somewhere sweetheart?” She yelped and turned around, Colonel looked at her with a frown yet a look of longing in his eyes, she had an awkward smile on her face as she spoke “Oh good morning Miles, I was… I was just going get something to eat, everyone will be hungry when the wake up” he took step closer to her, y/n’s back hit the wall and soon the space between them grew only smaller.

She looked into his golden eyes seeing his predatory look, but she was confused when she saw his tail nearly quivering like an excited cat. It was easy to read an Avatar’s body, their tails usually give away their thru feelings.

She met his eyes again as she spoke “Well are we going to get something to eat or not?” Colonel grunted a little, still in his thoughts as he looked at her.

When he remembers his human self’s memories and all the the times he would imagine telling her about his thru feelings.

She waited for him to answer her but he still seemed elsewhere “Um Colonel I asked-“ he immediately answered “I heard you Y/n, and stop with that” y/n was confused by what he said “What do mean?” He frowned a bit as he spoke, entirely ignoring her question “Okay you said you know where to get something to eat so let’s go” she nodded before walking.

After a couple of minutes she stopped and started to climb a tree, Colonel immediately went after her as he tried to keep up, he looked to his right and saw Y/n grabbing this strange purple fruit, she turned to look at him and started to throw the fruit towards him “Catch!” He tried to but most of it fell making y/n look at him with a face of displeasure.

She helped him carry the fruit back to the others who seemed to have woken up, they looked around and spotted the two carrying the fruit “You should all eat this, with your Avatar bodies, human food won’t do you any good” they looked at her with slight suspicion before y/n grabbed one the fruit and ate it “See not poison, so stop looking at me like that” they grabbed the purple fruit before taking a bite themselves.

Z-Dog’s eyes went wide “Oh shit” soon Colonel looked towards y/n and saw her standing next to Brown, he frowned and walked towards them “Sweetheart since you know so much about this place how about you show me where they got those flying things”

She frowned a little at the nickname he kept on calling her, it was starting to get annoying. When Colonel was still human he would always give her nicknames like Clumsy or what he use to call the others Science pukes, it got to such a point she almost wanted to just leave but she liked him and that was her mistake.

Y/n corrected him “Mountain banshees, not dragons or the easier name Ikran” Colonel snapped his fingers with a smile “Ah yes that’s the one” he looked at her disbelieved face in question.

Her eyes met his as she spoke “And why would I do that?” Colonel let out a silent laugh as he took a step closer towards her “Because I think you really want to keep your little friends alive” her eyes blew wide for a moment before turning into a pained look “Fine” He smiled “Great!”

They made their way towards the flying mountains and was now making their way to the top “Come on keep up!” Y/n yelled at the others who seemed to have trouble making their way up.

Y/n was leading them towards the nest of the Ikrans, she jumped onto a log and waited for them to come closer, Colonel took the gun from Wainfleet and pointed it towards a Ikran but stopped when he heard laughter, he turned his head towards y/n with confusion “Na’vi kids my size can do this with their bare hands” Colonel nodded his head slightly as he questioned “Jake Sully did it the hard way?” Y/n looked at him “What do you think?”

He looked at Brown and back at Y/n with a detriment smirk, he gave back the gun to Wainfleet before jumping over the log towards the flying dangerous in front of him.

Y/n smiled a bit before following him “This is going to be good” Some the Ikrans immediately jumped off the mountain when they spotted Colonel walking towards them but there was one that took the challenge and hissed at him, Colonel hissed back and punched the creature in the face before jumping onto it “Did I mention you were supposed to tie its mouth shut first?” Y/n called, Colonel was struggling and answered sarcastically “Thanks a lot swEetheart”

Suddenly the Ikran jumped off with Colonel still on its back, they all ran towards the ledge as they heard Colonel scream fade into the mist with the Ikran.

They waited a couple of minutes but nothing. They all started to walk away as y/n stood there for a couple of more seconds, a slight familiar pain made it’s way into her heart as she started to walk away but that was short lived when she saw Colonel ontop of his Ikran yelling “That’s right!” His team cheered him on as he flew over them. Soon the others got their turn and almost didn’t end well with one of them but finally it was safe and they all flew out into the open again as Y/n told them how to fly them.

“That was amazing Colonel, I still can’t believe you punched the poor thing” Colonel looked at her and back at the sky with a proud smirk on his face. A gush of wind made the Ikran a little unsteady, making y/n sit back a little more.

Soon they arrived back at Bridgehead city, to report back and while they waited, the humans made seat’s for the Avatar’s to sit on while they flew the Ikrans.

Y/n was talking with Colonel but he wasn’t focusing, he was memorising her smile, the way her hands were moving while she spoke, the way she was looking at him with admiration, the same things she use to do when he was still human, when she was so desperately trying to get his attention when he ignored her.

Guilt made it’s way into his heart as he remembered those things, sometimes he wondered what his past self thought in his final moments, what regrets he might of had but he didn’t have to dwell on that anymore, he was back and he had y/n by him as well.

“Hey are you listening?” Colonel snapped out of his thoughts as he smiled towards her “Of course” she nodded as she continued, “The way you just jumped onto it with out so much as a second thought was so scary and when you went of the side of the cliff I thought you’d-“ she stopped as she looked down, a look of pain washed over her as he questioned.

“You what?” She looked at him with worry “I thought I lost you” he stopped in his tracks as his eyes went wide, his heart skipped a beat when he heard her words ‘She was worried about me?’ His shocked exasperation soon turned into a smirk as he walked closer towards her, she noticed and backed up a little towards the wall but he made sure to close that space immediately.

“You were worried about me sweetheart?” Her face turned red and looked away, he grabbed her cheek and turned it towards him again.

“Calm on you just admitted it, why are shy now?” she was breathing a bit heavier then usual and his mind snapped to more perverted thoughts, ‘What’s wrong with me?’ He questioned himself.

Suddenly the sound of footsteps was heard on the other end of the hall and Colonel stepped away from her. It was the general her self, her mask was sealed tight as she turned her head to look at Colonel “Have you found Jake Sully yet Colonel?” He shook his head “Not yet General”

The general turned her head towards Y/n and frowned “You know where they are” y/n stiffed for a second “I don’t know where they are, they probably went somewhere to hind”

The general wasn’t happy one bit and grabbed her arm “If I find out you’re lying, you can make your last prayer, is that clear?” Y/n looked at Colonel but he only stood still not saying a word.

She let out a scoff but was soon rescued by a familiar voice “Good afternoon General” she turned towards Brown, waiting for him to continue “Y/n has no reason to lie, considering she helped us get those things” the general looked at Y/n for a second before walking away.

Y/n ran towards Brown, hugging his hips “Thank you, I don’t know what I would’ve done with out you”.

Colonel could’ve sworn that he broke his jaw as he bit onto his teeth, he looked at Brown for a moment. Brown raised his head to look at his boss but was met with a warning look, like Colonel was about to rip his head off.

Y/n let go of his hips as she looked into his frightened eyes “I..I need go help Wainfleet with something” he said as he quickly walked away.

Colonel kneeled in front of her “Are you alright?” She took a step back “Are YOU alright because you look like your about to eat me” his facial expression calmed down a bit as he smiled.

An idea popped into his head, “You know you can sleep in my room” she turned towards him “Really?” He nodded his head with a slight smirk.

He opened the door and Y/n was immediately amazed by the sheer size of the room “The bath room is in there and here’s one my shirts, it’s all I have that can fit you and don’t try to do anything stupid while I’m gone, is that clear?”

The entire flight long he had a smile but started to focus a bit more when he arrived at his destination. There was all sorts of strange plants surrounding him, he climbed off his Ikran and started looking for the plant.

After an hour he found the damn thing, he ripped it out of the ground and pushed it into the bag, not really caring if it’s damaged or not.
