was handed a new style guide at work and now we gotta use "person-first" language meaning you can't say "lgbt person" you gotta say "a person who is lgbt" and it's very fun and whimsical for me to imagine a world in which this helps anyone

I can’t believe I even have to come on here and say this, but let’s get one thing absolutely straight; racists and bigots do not belong in this fandom. You can take one look at the Na’vi, glorify and obsesses over their fashion, over their hairstyles, arguably their facial features too, when this fictional race is very clearly inspired from not only African likeness, but also numerous indigenous groups across the world. At the end of the day the physical and even some of the cultural attributes you like about the Na’vi are in these different cultures and groups of people, yet you see no problem being disgusting and nasty to them and talk down to them just for being another skin color than you?? Make it make sense.

I am so utterly appalled that anyone, fandom or not is using this sort of language WITH ANYONE. We’re fucked- I don’t post often here anymore but I’m scared that this rapist, racist, homophobic, felon of a waste of human life is president again; this means one of three things: 1) we are in danger, 2) any and every openly LGBT person is in danger, and 3) we’re probably gonna go into World War III because of one of his tweets can almost start it, then I know for damn sure that it’s gonna happen now.

We need to stay safe, and if it means going low key for the next four years or constantly providing a safe space for everyone like me to vent then I will do both.
