kind of funnyish but when i saw the outsiders musical there’s a dinner scene between the curtis brothers and at the end of bows i remember i think it was brody and jason and brent? (my eyes aren’t the most reliable, they all kind of look the same except pony because he’s got the fluffy hair) ran back to the table and just started wolfing a bit of the food down before waving goodbye with their mouths full and running off and it was such a curtis brothers thing to do.

Jally but they’re two spirits forced to roam the earth in search of each other but they keep looking at the places they think the other would be so they never see each other. Pony has always has one kind of ‘6th sense’ if yk what I mean and sees them all the time but is too terrified to talk to either of them even tho Johnny sits at his window every night. After 2 months of this he decides to go see what Johnny wants and Johnny just asks him where dally is, pony says that he’s dead and Johnny just looks at him and asks if he knows where he could be and pony promises to help him find him. The next day he takes him to the lot and he waits and then that night dally comes to the lot and then they are reunited and able to go to the spirit realm together. A few months later a cat and a dog appear on the Curtis brother’s lawn when the gang were about to go somewhere. The cat sleeping soundly in the sunlight and the dog sitting in a protective and guarding position. A big blonde blue eyed dog and a small black cat which they named Johnny and Dallas since they looked suspiciously like the two of them…

Just saw ur post abt the winter storm, how in eywa’s name are you so fluent in Na’vi? I’ve been meaning to learn, but I haven’t had the time 😵‍💫

Kaltxì! To be fair, I'm not actually fluent—fluency in a language, by definition, is when you are able to use the language reflexively (so without really thinking about it). It'd be awesome to reach that point with Na'vi someday, but I'm definitely not there yet lol; I still usually have to think in English first and then consciously translate it in my head. Have to focus a lot while listening/reading too. But I am roughly conversationally functional lol, and I hope I am improving!

That said, the key is patience and practice! When you learn a new language, you're essentially training your brain to process information through a whole new filter. That's very much a long-term goal that will take a lot of time!

BUT, it doesn't have to take a lot of time all at once. You'd be surprised how far you can get by practicing just ten minutes a day as long as you do it consistently! Short but consistent practice sessions (even if they're as simple as reading or writing a few sentences, learning about one new grammar concept, learning five new words, etc.) are FAR more effective than long-and-intense but infrequent sessions. That's because with the short sessions you are making an effort to actually use the language every day, which will help it sink in much faster!

If you're looking for a place to start, I'd highly recommend hopping on the Kelutral discord server (that's where I do the majority of my Na'vi stuff lol). We have lots of resources and a ton of active teachers right now, ready to help and answer questions in text chat as well as providing various VC lessons/practice/activities throughout the week. :)
