a moment of peace before the whole world shatters đ
Do we have enough drachmas for an Uber?
apparently not, my friend
HAHAHAHA
Dear Lord Zeus,
Iâm afraid that after stumbling upon a half-armadillo half-god demigod, I have to ask you to please refrain from mating with everything you see. This child is rolling around camp eating worms and other various bugs. We will treat him with the love and respect of any other demigod, but for the sake of everyone please restrain yourself.
Sincerely,
Chiron.

Nothing would ever be more iconic than a climatic prelude to the heated scene interrupted by the annoyed "Please don't fuck in my bathroom".

âAw, AlexâŚitâs ok, shh, youâre okayâŚ.â Eliza cooed, holding Alexanderâs hair back as he heaved over the toilet. Tears were streaming down his face, dripping down his nose and falling into the water below his face. âM-My stomach hurtsâŚâ he whimpered weakly before heaving more.
âI know, I knowâŚâ she whispered, pressing a cold rag to the back of his neck. She hated seeing Alex like this. Being sick was hard for Alex, she knew that all too wellâŚit brought back painful memories of his mother. Her stomach squirmed at the sound of Alexander finally vomiting into the toilet bowl, but she couldnât leave him. He was trembling and sobbing beneath herâŚand as uncomfortable as she was around vomit, she knew the discomfort couldnât even rival the world of pain Alexander was going through during this moment.
Only when Alex stopped gagging did Eliza let go of him. At the sound of a meek whine, she quickly put her hand back on his shoulder, attempting to reassure him. âGet cleaned up. Iâm only going to get you new pajamas and some medicine, ok? Iâll be right back, I promise,â she soothed. As soon as he gave a small nod, she left to, very quickly, fetch his pajamas and medicine, just like she said.
She came back to the bathroom only to find Alexander still crumpled in a pile on the floor, shaking and sobbing just as he had been a few minutes prior.
âOh, goodness, AlexanderâŚâ She sat on the floor with him, wrapping her arms around him in a motherly fashion and stroking his hair.
âM-MamaâŚâ he breathed, curling up more and putting his head on her chest. A fresh wave of tears came as he tenderly reached out to stroke her arm. âI donâtâŚI donât feel good, MamaâŚâ
Elizaâs eyes widened as she felt her heart shatter into a million pieces. âI know, AlexanderâŚâ she whispered, holding him close to her bosom. She felt a wet spot on the front of her shirt, presumably from his tears. âCome on Alex, we need to get you cleaned upâŚâ she tried weakly, attempting to stand up.
Alexander only responded by gripping onto her tighter. âDonât leave!â he pleaded. âPleaseâŚplease donât leaveâŚâ Panicked, he began mumbling in French, most likely along the lines of âplease stayâ or âdonât leaveâ. Eliza knew a little French, but wasnât fluent by any means.
âIâm not leaving, Alex,â she reassured patiently, stroking his cheek. âIâm getting you a rag and some mouthwash to get you cleaned up a little bitâŚcome on, stand up with me.â
Alexander held Elizaâs arm in a death grip, refusing to let go of her. âO-Okay, MamaâŚâ
The first thing Eliza did was get a rag to wipe Alexanderâs face. It was covered in sweat and tears, among a bit grosser things, but that was all wiped away with a refreshingly cool rag. She rinsed the rag again for good measure before wiping gently at his puffy, red eyes. âItâs ok, AlexâŚyouâre okay⌠want some mouthwash?â she asked softly, oh-so-gently prying the arm that wasnât holding the rag arm from his grip.
For once, Alex willingly let go. âDonât leaveâŚâ he repeated in a whisper, his weak eyes focusing intensely on Eliza, the woman his feverish mind had convinced him was his late mother.
âI wonât,â she chuckled softly, reaching for the mouthwash. She poured a small amount into a paper cup and handed the blue liquid to Alexander. âDonât swallow it,â she reminded him. If he thought she was his mom, there was no telling what else his foggy mind might be thinking.
He nodded and spit the stuff into the sink after swishing it around a bit, wiping his mouth with the hand towel. He turned around to face Eliza, and he shuffled closer to her.
âLetâs get that shirt off,â she sighed, pulling his shirt over his head and grabbing the neatly folded shirt she grabbed for him earlier.
Alex limply obliged, allowing his dirty shirt to be slipped off of his small frame, and was equally as limp as a clean shirt replaced the soiled one. âThank you, MamaâŚâ he breathed out, collapsing onto her once he was dressed.
Eliza held him, reaching out with a free hand to grab and unwrap a chewable Pepto Bismol tablet. She held his face and slipped the pink, chalky medicine past his lips. âThat will help you feel betterâŚâ she cooed, kissing his temple and swaying back and forth gently. âWould you like to go lay down?â she whispered, pulling him towards the bathroom door slowly, so as to not startled him, and firmly but tenderly holding his hand.
Alex nodded feebly, chewing half-heartedly on the Pepto Bismol tablet and sniffling as he willingly followed Eliza into his bedroom.
âIâm sorry youâre so sick, AlexâŚâ she whispered, helping Alex up into his bed and tucking him in. âGo on to sleepâŚyou need itâŚâ She tenderly stroked his cheekbone, giving him a motherly gaze.
âLay down with me, Mama?â he asked, eyes glazing over from exhaustion and fever, amongst other tiring things. He just needed sleep.
âOf course.â She smiled and laid down on top of the covers with him.
âLove youâŚâ he whispered, nuzzling back into her chest. He had relaxed drastically since his breakdown in the bathroom, thank goodness. No longer were his muscles tense and shaking, or his stomach heaving, or tears streaming ceaselessly from his eyes.
âI love you too.â She felt a bit of pride knowing that sheâd singlehandedly calmed Alex down, and even managed to stay with him this whole time without getting sick herself. Wrapping an arm securely around him, she began rubbing his back to soothe him further, or hopefully even lure him to sleep.
Her plan, of course, worked. In almost no time, Alexander had slipped into the clutches of sleep. Relieved, Eliza allowed herself to doze offâŚhopefully he would feel better in the morning.
