One of my favorite things about this season is the quiet moments between Frank and Karen. There are just some really beautiful scenes between them.
WOLL: One of our favorite moments is in one of the very first scenes, when she hugs him, out of the blue. I liked that because, in reading the first two episodes, you’ve been through so much and learned so much about all of the horrible things that have happened to him that by that moment, the audience wants to give him a hug. You want to reach out to him and be like, “It’s okay! You don’t have to kill!” I liked that, in that moment, I could speak for the audience. I could reach out and treat him like a human being, in a way that a lot of the rest of the world won’t. [x]
Fanfic is a free hobby.
It's one of the last few things we can have as a society that's free. You can engage, for free. People give you things (art, stories, etc), for free.
Don't buy into the consummerism just because it's everywhere else.
You don't have to consume everything you interact with. You don't have to use things, just because they exist.
You're allowed (still, for now), to have things that are enjoyable for free.
Do you realise how insane the world is? We don't have many places where we can just be, for free anymore, but ao3 is. Did you notice we don't have ads in ao3? We don't have pop ups? Where ELSE do we not have that?
Where else can you just go and not have to wait for a commercial to be over or for ads to be on the sidelines?
I don't think the younger people understand, but the whole of internet used to be like this. YouTubers would do Youtube for free, just because. You couldn't monetise your internet presence before.
Ao3 is like a little preserved corner of the internet where the old internet used to be, and it's being attacked by people who do not understand that free things are allowed to exist without judgment.
Please don't ruin this for us.
Some of us need it.
You heard his too?
Oh, yeah.
i need him cold trembling and delirious from blood loss but still kinda bouncing on it
doing some doodling and experimenting
im not saying it was a perfect film BUT women talking's conversation around the importance of education for young boys, the importance of recognising they are not predestined to cruelty and violence, that they can be good if they're raised away from the toxicity of patriarchy PLUS the fact that the women are inconsistent in their decisions and trauma responses, and some of them are downright unlikeable without ever being the antagonist or villain, the scenes of joy and love between the women and children who've suffered unspeakably, the scenes of the younger boys and girls playing together, 'sometimes forgiveness can be confused with permission' ???? beautiful
Frank Castle moments in gifs [?/∞]
+ bonus:
anway… HE SHAVED FOR KAREN. Frank Castle you are a slut.
fratt is actually sooooo important for the culture like. what if you were grieving your best friend in the entire world, your platonic soulmate, and after he dies you have to deal with your grief and guilt and trauma but also your all-consuming romantic and sexual attraction to this fuckass ex-marine whose love for violence matches only your own. happened to my good friend Matt Murdock
Karen said no to the coffee because Frank is still choosing another war instead of loving someone (her). Karen said no to the coffee because if she said yes, it would mean Frank was trying to choose both. But The Punisher can only have war and if he tried to make room for love and war, if would only end poorly. She knows it. So she says no to the coffee until the day he can end the wars and stop Punishing and only choose love.
But she smiles, because she knows him even offering, even trying to have love with the war instead of just the war is progress.
