just rewatched s2ep11 of Punisher and i’m deadass confused how Karen and Frank aren’t gonna end up together. they have to. there’s no other choice. Karen asked him to “make it mean something” that she came to visit him. she was willing to throw her entire life away to help him and he couldn’t let her. she told him to choose to LOVE SOMEONE instead of the war. she begged him to love her. he practically admitted he did but couldn’t do a thing about it. they almost kissed!! and they’re not gonna be endgame??
that one hurt his feelings
hope they'll make an episode in ddba s2 where matt is fighting the bad guys but every twenty minutes he stops to check the vatican's live to see if they have elected the new pope

I totally get we're all rightfully pointing out Frank being overcome in love in the finale but we need a moment for Karen initiating and getting swept up in that gaze with him and having to shake herself out of it but then getting sucked back in to gaze sadly until Frank has to be the one to break the moment because Matt's awkwardly there while they went off into their own little world. The camera's on Frank when he's fiddling with the mug but you can see from her back she sighs with him.
Yes! I love that she's resisting, but the connection (even after all these years) is so strong she just keeps getting sucked back in. And that Frank only brings Matt back into their bubble after she turns down his offer.
a flirty banter between frank and karen must involve being held at gunpoint, being shot at and actually taking a bullet or two so they can laugh about it over coffee.
im not saying it was a perfect film BUT women talking's conversation around the importance of education for young boys, the importance of recognising they are not predestined to cruelty and violence, that they can be good if they're raised away from the toxicity of patriarchy PLUS the fact that the women are inconsistent in their decisions and trauma responses, and some of them are downright unlikeable without ever being the antagonist or villain, the scenes of joy and love between the women and children who've suffered unspeakably, the scenes of the younger boys and girls playing together, 'sometimes forgiveness can be confused with permission' ???? beautiful
