Hisuian stared down at the little red ball in the champion’s hand, seeing it offered to her to examine. It was…smooth, reflective and elegant. It was such a contrast to the rough textures and ugly buckles that marred her own pokeballs, some even still having the ridges and dimples from the apricorns they came from.

Ayu…wasn’t sure how to feel.

“…they’re…smaller than mine.” The trainer says timidly, unclipping her own pokeball from her belt and holds it in her other hand, “Did you make these yourself as well?”

“Okay, okay, look. See?”

The little one holds up a half empty battery pack, the slot car remote in her other hand.

“I put fresh batteries in both of these remotes! Honest! Do you wanna try and race again? Now that I’ve proved I’m not cheating?”
